Disappointing. Shock cord broke during first time setting up.

Update: I contacted customer service at . The rep was very helpful. They are sending me a replacement. I bought the Evanston 8 during Black Friday sales in 2016. Last night I took it out to set it up for the first time before leaving for camping this weekend. The elastic shock cord broke. How flimsy! I thought I expect better quality from . I just contacted to see if I could get a replacement but I saw forum about refusing to replace poles because they are not covered under warranty. Ill wait for s respond and provide an update here.

Spacious, Easy set up and take down

I was able to set this up easily by myself (and the help of two 4 year olds) and take it down, fold it back perfectly into the bag in no time. The size is fantastic as well! This coming weekend is our first trip with it, so I will update if my feelings for it changes. But I cant imagine it letting us down.

    I am glad I purchased a 6-person tent

For a family of four, I am glad I purchased a 6-person tent! I was able to fit three twin size mattresses and one portable mat/pad with plenty of room to hold several miscellaneous camping items, and two backpacks inside the main sleeping area. We were able to attach two small lanterns and two small pouches inside the tent gave us the ability to hold car keys, wallets, and phones. We did not have any major issues with this tent during our camping trips. Good items to note: - Getting the tent installed is super easy, but I highly recommend reading the instructions at least once and installing the tent in your backyard before your first camping trip. It took about 15 to 20 minutes to get everything installed during our first camping trip and about 20 minutes to put everything away. Take time to fold the tent properly or you wont be able to fit all of the items inside the storage bag. - The tent was able to keep all of the annoying and nasty bugs outside and good ventilation inside the tent at night. - I was able to stand straight up in the main sleeping area which was convenient and I didnt expect this. - The screen area will not be dry during rain, but this should not be a surprise from the design of the tent, but it will hold three portable chairs as an escape from annoying flies and mosquitoes. Several concerns: - Two bottom corners in the screen area were not sealed properly and I am not sure if this is by design or the two areas that I noticed were ripped during installation. This was a concern because I didnt want any ants inside the tent, but we didnt have any problems during our camping trips. - I highly recommend purchasing heavy duty ten spikes and dont allow your teenager daughter to hammer the smaller spikes that come with the tent unless you are willing to dedicate one hour of your time making them straight again. Overall, I am happy with the tent and it will last us for several years and I will update this review after our third and fourth camping trips.

This tent is great! It is the perfect tent for a family ...

This tent is great! It is the perfect tent for a family of four with plenty of space. It did take two of us to put together, but we didnt even use the instructions and it was quick and easy. My husband just needed my assistance a few times, one person could have done it without help Im sure. It has a screened in porch in the front, that we loved. We fit a queen air mattress and a twin air mattress, but 2 queens would have fit. We had plenty of room for chairs and a cooler on the screened porch as well. Best of all, no bugs got in! The screened in porch is like a second barrier for the bugs to pass through, so my kids were extra happy about there being close to zero chance bugs would creep in. I highly recommend this tent!

    Superior for staying dry

We survived a thunderstorm in this this tent, tents around us were flattened and others got wet while we stayed dry! I did not use a seam sealer because we did not get it in time to let it dry so I skipped that and it did not matter. Superior for staying dry!! Things in the screened porch will obvisously get wet if it rains much but that is common sense we left coolers and other waterproof things out there, no big deal. We slept 2 up with a queen air mattress and were very comfy and had room to walk around while it rained. It does get hot fast in the tent so I would say take a fan or set up in the shade. No condesnsation or drips at all.

This tent is amazing! I have my husband

This tent is amazing! I have my husband, two children, and a dog, and this tent has more then enough room! The screen room is so great too and good size. We put a small table, cooler and our food in it and still have plenty of room. Highly recommend this tent.

Ive been very happy with this tent

So far, Ive been very happy with this tent. It was up last week during several rainstorms and showers, and we didnt have any water come in, even when the wind blew with the exception of the porch section not covered by the rain fly, but I had expected that due to the design. I only gave it 4 stars because the pole sleeves seem very delicate so though Im always careful threading poles through, Im extra careful with this one because it just seems like these might snag and tear very easily. The fabric also seems to fight a little more tightly than the tents Im used to, so I have a little concern with it potentially tearing at the poles, but so far, so good. Im 51 and can have it set up myself in about 10 minutes. Very easy assembly. Lots of space for my daughter and I - easily fits 2 twin air mattresses with room for a small table, some gear, and our 52lb Boxer and still be able to walk in between UPDATE: So, we arrived at our campsite and heard the thunder rolling in. My 12 he old daughter and I had the main cabin with rainfly up in about 5 minutes before a deluge started. All windows were open. Not a drop of water was in the tent when it was over. Set the porch up in a drizzle and had storms and rain the next 3 days near the now-angry Youghegheny River. Even slept with the windows open during some very heavy downpours and we didnt have a single drop of rain come in. When I went to tear down I realized we had the rainfly hooked at the bottom corners, but didnt have the loops attached to the poles and it still didnt budge through all the storms. Well done, ...

Great unless it rains, then you lose the porch area.

While the actual interior space of this tent is large and comfortable (I am 510 and could stand up all the way, and our queen mattress fit with lots of room to spare), the porch area is useless in rain. We had to rig up tarps to try to keep the space even a little bit dry and that didnt work well enough. The drain holes on the sides of the porch area make for easy clearing of water, but why render 1/3 of the living space useless in wet weather? Why not extend or amend the fly so it covers that area and the user isnt scrambling to throw anything that isnt waterproof into the tent area? The tent stayed 100% bone dry during a 24-hour hard rain, which was great. Still, were thinking of returning it.
