The bunk bed looks exactly like!!the product pictures once it is put together. It arrives in 2 boxes...mine arrived 3 days apart. The boxes were completely beat up， but the bed is well-protected on the inside. There are no words on the assembly instructions， just diagrams! So take a deep breath and look at the pictures carefully. All of the parts are labelled it comes with 2 wrenches. It will take 2 people to assemble. It took me and a friend about 3 hours. The whole bedroom was needed for space for assembly. It was fairly straight forward. An 8 inch mattress fit on top very well. My kids have not yet tested it out， but it seems quiet and sturdy. The ladder can only be positioned in the one spot. Having an extra flat head screwdriver will help with the anchors when placing screws.
Addendum: 8 months later: My kids love!!the bunk beds. So far they seem very sturdy. The 60-pounder sleeps on top， the 30-pounder on the bottom. We use the trundle for extra storage for now. Changing the sheets on the top bunk is a drag for parents， but not bad for kids. Theres not much headroom between bottom bunk and top， but strips of cushioned furniture protectors or pool noodles may work to pad the open wood. Overall， we still love!!the bunk beds and highly recommend.
My kids love!!this bed! It is gorgeous color， very sturdy. Drill with stars or allen wrench with handle would make a much faster assembly. You have to pay close attention to the piece placements. Also STEP 8 leaves out part detail 23 which is 3 wood pieces that are not marked to be placed underneath with 17 screws. The holes were a little off but screwed in with no problem. Much longer than I expected because I screwed everything by hand. The ladder was the hardest to do by hand. Overall our family loved! the finished product.
Bought this for our 9 year old granddaughter. Shes been wanting a bunk bed for years. This was an economical fulfillment of her wish.

Dont expect to put it together in an hour. There are almost 150 screws and bolts in the assembly. To finish in an hour you would have to finish screwing in a bolt or screw every 25 seconds. Allow several hours of uninterrupted assembly time.
Im impressed with the sturdiness of the bed. The side rails of the top bunk are quite solid and I have no concerns that a sleeper would break through and tumble over the side. Also， there is very little bed movement transferred when sleepers toss and turn. The bed came very well packed in 3 heavy duty， double boxed boxes very securely packed in styro-foam. The only damage I found was a small indentation on one of the side rails， but it is hardly noticeable. The instructions for assembling the stairs was missing， so had to go online to get those and a dowel pin hole was missing in one of the stair side panels that I had to drill myself. Other than those issues， we are quite satisfied with out purchase.

Beautiful bed we like!!that its full overfull it smelled a little strong at the start but now its aired out and my daughter loves it.
