Screws left us feeling... you know.

The screws stripped almost immediately from the Allen wrench.

    Great...

Great..so easy to assemble. My 12 year old granddaughter put it together in ten minutes. We enjoy it, this is the fourth one we have purchased.

    CHEAPSKATE TOOL

My problem is with the fasteners. Or rather, the incredibly cheap SOFT allen wrench. The metal is so soft that after half the screws are installed, the wrench end is round. This wouldn't have been a problem except for the fact that I lost all my tools in a recent house fire and was forced to use what came with the stool. If you've got some decent allen wrenches this shouldn't matter. I'm more than a little irritated at having to go to a hardware store to buy a set of wrenches to install 4 screws. Otherwise, it's a well-made attractive stool.

    Great stool. Strong and sturdy

Great stool. Strong and sturdy. Don't listen to the comments about the allen wrench. It works fine. There not going to include power tools in the box to assemble the stools. Make sure to hammer the screw covers on.

    Good choice

This stool arrived in good shape and was even nicer than expected. Easy to assemble and just what my husband needed for a particular place. Would certainly purchase from this line again.

Buy it, it's a good stool. Happy I did.

Love it. It's solid sturdy wood. Not cheaply made. It has a nice glossy finish to it. It was SUPER easy to assemble. It came in small box and all I had to do was place each piece together and screw in 8 screws with the included Allen wrench. I appreciate how it came with grips on the bottom of the legs so it doesn't slip or wobble. I read previous reviews before purchasing it. It is a good stool and I got mine for $28.

Not as sturdy as past models, but light and therefore useful

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Compared to virtually identical stools we've had for years (same wood, same design), these stools are a real disappointment. The wood is patched in obvious places (including the seat); the edge of the seat is sharper (apparently to mask that the seat itself is smaller), so that it's uncomfortable to sit on; the lateral bars are lower, so that you can't ease the discomfort by placing your feet on them; the finish is marred by stray patching compound; the screws are so weak, and the cuts just haphazard enough, so that it's way too easy to snap the screws while tightening them (with any one failed screw compromising the whole stool); and all the pieces are skimpier, such that I wouldn't trust heavy friends to sit on the stool without some care. To repeat, a real disappointment. UPDATE: Over the past year, I've come to prefer these stools to the older, heavier model, because I find myself moving them fairly often, and it's so much easier to move these than the heavy ones. Thus, I've upgraded my rating to 4 stairs, falling short of 5 only because the wood is patched, and to caution people to observe the weight limit. (I'm writing from the US, if that's a hint.)

    Great stool!

Very easy to assemble, even for a klutz. The stool is very stable; the legs sit squarely in the ground so there's no wobbling. Very pleased with this purchase.
