Everything arrived sooner than expected. All pieces where there and the directions were easy to follow. I put it together by myself. It took longer than the directions said. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a bed with storage.
I ordered this bed along with the separate matching headboard for my first apartment at college last August. After having all of these pesky Twin XL sheets, bedding, mattress pad, memory foam pad, etc. I didnt want to buy a completely new bed and have to get all that aforementioned stuff in a different size as well. Considering I was going to be using this for my next 3 years, I wanted something that could last in a college kid guy environment with 2 other suite mates. This wasnt too much on the expensive side, but it also wasnt super cheap, but, if I needed it to last, why skimp?
When this got delivered to my apartment, it came in several different packages that were all VERY large. Obviously you cant just order a bed and hope it comes completely assembled. Ill admit, it was a bit of a pain to assemble it all, considering it came as just all these pieces of wood, nails, washers, etc. Thankfully there were no pieces missing and even one or two extra screws and other small hardware. It only took me about 2-3 hours to completely assemble everything, including the headboard. I did need to get one of my roommates to help me stand some of the pieces of wood up to screw them in, and also to lay the pieces of plywood (that the bed lays on) into the metal runners (which took about 5 minutes because the plywood is so bendy and likes to come out of the runners if bumped).
It is an incredible bed set and so far it has lasted one school year. Now for 3 more summers and 2 more school years. It is wood, so it can scratch easily but going to a mattress/furniture store, or even a hardware store and getting a wood marker to color in scratches saves face and keeps it aesthetically pleasing. Highly recommend this set to any age. You definitely get your moneys worth!
Dont be intimidated by the three boxes this bed arrives in. After reading other reviews I was very apprehensive about putting this together by myself, and thought I would end up having to call for help, but managed to do it all by myself Just for review purpose I will tell you I am a 49 year old female. If you read the instructions and follow it step by step, and just take your time, it goes together really well. Only thing I found was at one point in the instructions it tells you to place the JR Nuts everywhere they are supposed to go, this is pointless because they fall out while you are trying to move the rails around and get the ones you are working on tightened, so after chasing them around the floor a few times I just removed them and placed them at the point I was working on. I do like putting things together and while this was slightly challenging, it really wasnt difficult. Have been sleeping on this with my new memory foam mattress for 3 weeks now and I love it. Highly recommend!
love it took a little while to put together but is worth it not having any trouble with the draws Im using them as my dresser and its working just fine.
Its been a dream, assembly was a chore, but then again I did it alone. Took about 2-3 hours. It is well worth it, love the frame, loooovvveee the extra storage.
First I have to admit, I bought this bed from another place. They offered ship to store. I could pick it up at my convenience. I will say, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. They do have some good info tho. They tell you which way something should go, and how to tell the difference between top and bottom of certain things. Ive read literally hundreds of reviews on the Prepac beds. The good, the bad, and the ugly. There were also many helpful ideas on making it a better bed. I used some of them. After I built the bed, according to the instructions. Except, I got some of the cheapest 1/2 window foam I could find. I put this in the back of the rail channels, to help keep the slats tight and hopefully quiet. Then I put wood glue all around the inside seams of the drawers. This was to hopefully keep the bottom from sagging. After I made sure the bed was square (drawers open and close easily and arent sitting at an angle), I put corner brackets around the top, just above the slat rail. I used 1/2 6 wood screws to attach these (that way they wont go all the way through). I did this for sturdiness. Someone suggested to do it around the bottom too, but Im too lazy. You have to pull the drawers out and lay all funky. I may do it later, if needed. This bed comes in 3 boxes. People have commented that memory foam mattresses dont like platform beds with gapped slats or wires. So, I took the largest box and opened it up all the way. I placed it on the slats. I then screwed it to the slats. I used the screws that came with the corner brackets for this. Figured screwing it down would make the slats and bed sturdier. Havent put the mattress on it yet. Were not officially moving into the new place for a couple of days. As of right now, I really like it. If something changes, I will come back and let you know.
We are in love with this bed. MUST WARN: assembly may require a contractors license - we had to hire someone as we could not figure it out, even with the instructions. However, it is totally worth it and we have a foam mattress on it successfully. We bought the matching bookcase head board which has similar instructions but again, totally worth it. Both pieces are Beautiful!

So much storage. I love it. Unfortunately our cat has learned how to open the drawers, climb inside, and then close the drawer behind him...
Fit for a Queen

Love it. Just what I expected. Luckily I did not have to put it together..my friend did. Lots of screws.
A little extra doctoring, and you can have a nice bed
