The only con to this set is that the ladder and slide cannot swap sides. Otherwise, this is a great set and my 3 year old absolutely loves it. So far, after a month of him putting it to the standard boy test, this bed hasnt shown any signs of wear or weakness, yet.
My son is so happy with his new bed. It was easy to assemble with good instruction. No missing pieces and its very sturdy. The twin size mattress is not a snug fit which I was assuming it would fit like. The only improvement I can see so far is that it would be awesome if you could interchange the slide and ladder. They have to go on certain sides, the slide on the left and the ladder on the right. We had to flop his whole room around so the slide wasnt extended into the middle of the room. When hes a bit bigger and is too cool for a slide we can just take it off and he can have the loft bed.
The excitement of this bed made the transition from his small bed to this larger bed very easy and fun. ALSO I enjoy having the leverage of the slide when my child isnt listening at bedtime or getting out of bed. I just threaten to take the slide off and he straightens right up! ;)
I recently purchased this for my 4 year old son. He is obsessed! Its nice because its not as tall as other bunk beds, so Im not overly worried about him falling. Even though its not as tall as other loft beds, theres still enough room underneath for him to play. He cant stand underneath, but can happily play seated with enough room to move around. The slide is super fun. Just make sure you have enough room in their bedroom. It takes up more room than I had envisioned. Great quality and easy to assemble. My husband put it together all by himself pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend this bed!
Bought this for my little sister who was having a hard time transitioning from sleeping in a room with her sister to sleeping alone. This bed definitely helped with the transition. She now sleeps alone, and loves the bed. She uses the slide sporadically / mostly when she gets up in the morning.
We bought this for our 3 year old hyper little monkey. I was worried about him falling off but the bar is great (we sliced pool noodles longways and put them around the top bars for extra comfort). Slide is sturdy and well made. Love everything. Absolutely great product.
One of the screws for the slide didnt reach all the way so I couldnt screw it in, but it appears to work fine even with one middle screw missing. That said this bed is beyond cool. My kids have had hours of joy playing on this already. I have a very tiny 2 year old (think 12 month size) who manages to climb all over it and a very tall 3 year old (think 5/6 year old size) and they both love it. I currently only have a top mattress but I might put one underneath too since I keep finding my daughter sleeping underneath since we bought the cute firetruck tent flaps. My husband declared this the best purchase Ive ever made, thats got to count for something. I may have to buy a second one for the other kids room.
Our 5 year old loves it and it seems pretty sturdy even though it is one of the lowest priced beds of this sort. Be aware if you get a thick mattress you may want to add a taller rail for it. With the mattress we chose there was only a couple inches of rail above it so I bought a tall bed rail on and put that in behind the existing one. It was inexpensive and worth the peace of mind knowing our little guy (probably) wont fall out. Assembly was easy but half of the hex sockets stripped with the provided allen wrench when tightened up well but not excessively. Not a huge problem now but when I have to disassemble and reassemble it may complicate things (perhaps require new hardware ).
Perfect for a little kid. Id say 3/6. Its not to tall so that saves on the fear of your child falling off and hurting himself. With it not being so high that limits the stand up room under the bed to play but my son at 4 enjoys climbing under and playing even if he has to kneel.
This was pretty easy to put together and took my husband and I about 90 minutes or less. The slide was too long to use in the room without blocking all of the walking space, so I do with it was a bit shorter.
