It is real soft wood, like the outside legs, middle metal legs have padding on the bottom.
Wood mattress boards go on with 4 pegs and velcro, must easier to install then others.
Sturdiness soso but good enough for the price. Definitely wouldnt jump on it. Time will tell how it holds up.

Very well made and great design this frame is really nice, easy to assemble and it looks absolutely robust. After a few weeks im able to assure that it makes no noises like metal beds would do. but im worried about to middle metal strap that separates the bed and should be hold by three additional legs. The Screws are weak and bend. Those three legs seem bend and im not able to adjust them in a strait position again. The four main legs are pretty slippery and my bed wanders around the room. i guess i have to find something to pin it down. That would probably help the stabilizing legs too.
Colour is a little lighter then appears in the picture, and Id like it to be a bit taller, however it is exactly as pictured and sturdy. So far Im pleased with this bed.
Exactly what I was looking for Okay I saw some reviews that made this product seem questionable and product pictures that definitely were not the same as this piece. The instructions though just pictures, were very easy to follow along the provided ratchet tool is so helpful plus they give you spare parts of washers and screws it really seems to be quality equipment and even has a no slip tape of sorts to keep mattress on the bed. I am way more excited about the platform than I should be
