I’ll start by saying I’m the handy one in my marriage and I’ve put together MANY items. The directions on this were some of the best-of course common sense and know how are essential in any assembly.
I put this together in just over an hour as a Mom of a 2 & 4 year old, who spent the majority of the time ‘helping’ me. Had I not received any ‘assistance’ I probably could have done this within an hour.
The bed seems sturdy enough for a child, but I would not trust it to hold my weight.
It looks great. Shiny pretty . And looks like it should have cost more than I paid.
Overall I’m very pleased and my 4 year old seems to love it!
I’m knocking this review down one start because the stair/desk area can only go on one side. So I had to improvise to make these work in my space.
Everything was easy to assemble. I’m an average strength smaller woman and had no problems putting this together by myself. Instructions were easy to follow. One piece came damaged, but I just used a large mallet and block to reshape it instead of sending in for a replacement.
For the price you can’t beat it. I love the full size instead of twin just makes it more exciting. I also really like the desk feature. It adds a lot of structural stability. My solution is drilling into the and using some washers to attach bolts that don’t have pre drilled washers set in.
Id give 4.5 stars. Good value for the money. Solid construction. Assembly is not difficult, but be sure to pay attention to holes on wood in drawings. Instructions are very basic with only vague photos. Dont over tighten screws or wood will split. Otherwise, good value for $$. I paid mid $500.
If you are going for white, you will most likely have to paint it. The paint from the factory is very thin, you can see the wood through the paint, pretty sure they didn't bother with two coats. Quality is pretty cheap, legs are not leveled either.
HINT: Ikea loft bed is a lot better for the money, too bad we saw it after we purchased this one.
If you live in a building with no elevator and the box gets dropped off downstairs good luck bringing it upstairs. The box is SUPER heavy. The bed took 3 hours to put together with 1.5 people (my son passed me the pieces).
Overall I really like this bed. It fits nicely in my son's room and seems fairly sturdy. The only thing I would change about the bed (besides the time it took to put it together) is the width of the desk, it could be a few inches wider. A nice accessory or add-on feature to consider is a sliding keyboard shelf that attaches under the desk.
** Make sure you measure your space before you purchase the bed.
**Use caution getting up from a chair when sitting at the desk or you will hit your head.
**You might want to have a pair of sturdy slippers on to go up and down the ladder. Your feet will definitely hurt.
I'd definitely recommend this bed. It's good for making the most out of a small space
If you're looking to save space, this might be the bed for you. A child no taller than 4"6' can stand comfortably underneath. The built-in steps on each side are made of round bars and may not be the most comfortable to climb on with bare feet or socks. The bed shakes slightly if you don't secure it to the wall, but the parts are provided if you do want to screw it onto the wall. All of the parts were labeled and the instructions with illustrations made it easy to assemble.
If you're struggling with both space and quality, this is the item for you. I was not in a position to spend a $1000 on a bunk bed, and the bunk bed I bought before this one broke repeatedly. So, I really wanted a sturdy bed for my kids. The clearance between the bottom and the top is spacious, and therefore really opens up the room. It looks really good. It takes some back work to put this thing together, but once in a rhythm, you hardly notice it. At first the little plastic pieces that keep the bars that support the mattress in place were really frustrating, but once I got a few down in practice, no problem. I wish that the ladder was a little more accessible than it is considering the rails are so high on the top, but that is my only complaint. This bed does not make a sound and is as sturdy as a rock. I looked long and hard for a decent bunk bed, and I am very, very pleased. What you see is what you get in the finished product. This is a good, pleasing buy!
If you've read of the difficulties some have experienced putting this together, expect the same for yourself. Otherwise, we've had it a year and still holds up fine. Not wobbly, no bent bars, etc.
I'm 140lb and I move around alot when I sleep, It's really sturdy. I hate the ladder as it hurts my feet so I just use a painters ladder next to it. Other than that I really love this frame, I would definitely buy again. Oh and when you assemble you will definitely need someone to help hold stuff for you, as bed gets near completion it's big and an extra hand is very helpful.
I'm a 180lb college student living in a tiny apartment and wanted a loft bed to make the most of the space. I'm also on a limited budget, so I was reluctant to purchase a seemingly flimsy loft bed that looks like its for kids. I read tons of reviews for different products, but ultimately decided to give this one a shot. I'm glad I did. The base product is good and holds my weight fine. However, it is absolutely necessary to mount this bed (and others like it I imagine) to the wall using some sort of bracket. I went to a nearby hardware store and got crafty with it. You can drill extra holes into the and the screws bit just fine. Just make sure not to over tighten or they'll strip. The bed is very wobbly on its own, but one mounted to the wall in just 3 spots it really is suprisingly solid and stable.

Not too shabby

Don't bother

Great product, just need to mount to wall for stability
