All in all this bed is worth the price in my opinion, since I was considering purchasing a bed with a similar look that would have cost at least $3k from RH Kids including tax and white glove delivery. It took my husband and I 4 hours to assemble. If you lay out the pieces by number and read the directions carefully, it's not that bad, but still time consuming and tiring, especially when you have to screw in every slat for the mattress supports. Our kids love their new bed. Yes there's a bit of a chemical/wood smell as some of the other reviews mentioned, but it doesn't bother our kids, and it's gradually dissipating. Fast shipping, arrived on time prior to Christmas.
My boys (9 and 11) absolutely love this bed! My husband got it put together by himself in a matter of hours. It's solid, sturdy, and I have no doubt will last years. It was worth every penny.

I opened the boxes 3 days before assembly since other people mentioned the smell but its been 3 weeks and it's still horrible. I've opened windows etc. I don't know if the smell will ever dissipate. It's a mix of alcohol and paint thinner.
