Pretty hard so not the most comfortable and more dark gray -blue than gray. Still works well in my small quilting studio and looks nice. Wouldnt recommend for an everyday use situation.
I bought this couch to keep at my parents house in their spare room so I could have a place to sleep comfortably when I go visit. Although I would not sleep on it for more than a week it will definitely do the trick for a few days. It looks really nice in the room and is super easy to turn into a bed. The install took maybe 15 minutes and it comes in a much smaller box than you would think. Its also pretty light and good quality.
For the $money$, this little couch is great! We bought this for a convertible couch for our kids playroom in the basement. We have four kids 6 and under so I didnt want to spend a lot of $money$ but wanted something solid.
Assembly: super easy. My husband is a plumber and über handy with all things so this went together in a snap for us. The kids loveeed helping turning all the Allen wrenches. Directions were straightforward. All the hardware was present and accounted for.
Fabric: color was as described. We have the dark navy blue. I really likeee it！！！. Should hide stains pretty well. Its not the most amazing quality fabric but its not too soft and def. not rough or scratchy.
Comfort: this sofa is not too hard, not too soft. I was expecting it to be super stiff and uncomfortable, but its really quite nice. Im 56 and the seat cushions come right to the back of my knees. So this couch is a bit low to the ground but thats perfect for our needs. My husband is 62 and he thought is was too low, naturally. The back of the couch hits me at the top of my shoulders so to rest my head would require me to totally stretch my neck back at likeee an 80 degree angle. Overall, I think its a comfy couch.
Functionality: It is a lighter weight sofa so I can move it on my own around the room or to pull out to adjust it to a bed. Its super easy to adjust the back sections down for the bed.
This product was great for the price, especially for our small apartment. It is comfortable for everyday use. After the first week it started to soften up and was a lot more comfortable to relax into. Its nice because its not too soft and still has some structure, but isnt so stiff you feel likeee you have to sit upright constantly.
The sleeper is a nice feature, but the bar going underneath definitely makes it something you wouldnt want to sleep on too frequently.
The ONLY thing I dont likeee, is if someone doesnt sit back far enough on the couch, the whole couch tips forward. Its a light design, so pros and cons.
Overall would purchase this again!
When this product is turned into a futon. You can only lay on the seat part. I have fell off the bed platform several times when shifting my weight to the back part of the futon. Not sturdy. Only supports weight in the sitting part.
These futons are much easier to assemble then I had expected. Some things that could have made it easier to put it together is if you own an extended socket wrench so that you can put the arms on a bit easier. I put one of the futons together by myself and it took about 55 minutes but admittedly I was also watching tv while assembling it. Instructions were easy to follow and made the process smooth.
When it comes to the comfort of the futons, I think the backs are a little stiff but they really arent uncomfortable. If I was looking for another futon I would be willing to order this one again.
As for the seller... I somehow managed to accidentally order 2 of these futons. I messaged the seller as soon as I noticed and tried to get them to stop one before they were shipped. Unfortunately, I was too late. The seller was very understanding of my stupid mistake and was willing to work with me to get one back. I ended up keeping both of them and giving one to my parents. Both of us are having no other issues with the futons.
