So this was an impulse buy but i have been eyeing it for a couple of weeks. worth the money? id say yes.
the box came very .. bruised? but i didnt pay for a pretty box, i paid for a quality chair. Ill start with assembly and go from there.
this was definitely a 2 person job to assemble. i found the instructions easy to understand, no parts were missing and it didnt take us long to put together. there are 2 steps that i did need help with but other than that, fairly simple. i wont lie, i had a hard time for a bit but we conquered it. it wasnt so bad that i gave up so hopefully that shows it was hard, but not frustrating.
once we got it set up, i got the cushion out of packaging and it was nice, fluffy and firm, and came with a bottom piece to go under the cushion so the bars wont be in your butt crack. i am 52 and i was able to lay down in the chair with so much comfort i was ready for a nap. the chair is sturdy, comfy, adorable and overall a great product. i will upload pictures when i am able. this purchase is one i do NOT regret.
I cannot say enough about this swing!! Best purchase ever. Perfect for sitting on our porch during a great Florida thunderstorm!! Its super comfy and roomy! I highly recommend this swing!
This chair fits in the corner of my deck perfect! I purchased extra pillows to make it extra comfy. Its a great chair to read a book in. The cup holders are an added bonus!
My wife and I had this together within a half hour, which was nice because it left plenty of time for us to enjoy sitting in it for the rest of the evening. Item is exactly as pictured
I would have given 5 stars if all the parts were assembled correctly. Assemble is not hard as long as you have one more person. You have to put some screws and stuff and nothing complicated. When we were trying to put silver stick things through holes (the things keep the chair open like a pumpkin otherwise it wont stay open) but it was sooo hard and we hurt our hands and it took awhile to do it. Then finally we were at the last step putting big black stick thing through holes so we can hook the chair to the stand, the holes were too small and couldnt put the stick through at all. We were like WTH??! Unless we put the stick, there is no way to hung the chair. That was the last thing to do and we were so excited to be done and use the chair! but that happened! So we check the same part on the bottom and tried to put the blank stick through the holes and it went through the holes with no problems at all! But we dont need to put the thing on the bottom but on the top! the top part has the loop/hook things attached to connect the chains from the stand to hung the chair, so we couldnt just flip the chair and use the bottom part as top. We thought about returning and get a new one but its such a hassle and we would not get the chair for two weeks, so we took the black parts that are holding all pumpkin chair together! The thing had 5-6 screws on each and we had to unscrew them all for top one and bottom one so we could switch the parts! Probably you cant understand what I am saying here but you would understand when you get the product! Anyway, so same parts but they were attached on wrong place, so we had to do extra things and had to unscrew after we were done with everything else. But I think we were just unlucky customers. I think as long as you get the product with right assemble as you are supposed to, you wouldnt have hard to time assemble and probably you need only 15-20mins! Other than the assemble, the chair has been awesome! I will recommend it
Well built, good price for the quality you get, package arrived broken and some metal parts scratched, otherwise I would have given a 5 star.
Instruction needs to improve especially the photos were small and in poor resolution in black and white
It's a great chair, once it's been assembled. My box was damaged but all parts were included. Putting it together required at least two people, don't expect to do this without help. But the real problem is that almost none of the holes lined up quite right. Five of six bolt holes were out of line and required either modification or considerable effort to make work. The four clip holes didn't line up correctly either, and resulted in several pinched fingers. The included instructions are not comprehensive enough or particularly helpful. However, here is what I learned:
1) You need the allen wrench that's included but you're also going to want a better wrench, one that has the round end that fits over the nut.
2) When trying to put in the four straight clip parts to the chair frame, the holes will not line up unless the bottom and top central crescent sections are properly aligned. This means you can't let one side go wonky while you pay attention to the other. Have one person monitoring each end. Watch your fingers too, those clips pinch.
3) One end of the big spring is narrower and has a tighter curve. Put that tight curve on top with the larger end hanging down where you attach the chair.
4) If you're having trouble hanging the chair after assembly is completed, lay the stand down on it's back with the chair positioned centered and hook it up on the floor. Once it's secured you can gently set the stand upright and the chair remains on the hook.
Once the nightmare of assembly is over this chair is AWESOME. I'm using it indoors, so am not concerned about weather damage, but if you're going to use yours outside I suggest putting a weather resistant cover on the cushions. It's large enough for one adult to lounge but would accommodate two sitting if they don't mind a little snuggle. Mine came with an under pad for the bottom and then a larger cushion. Between the two it's ok but I plan to add blankets, pillows, and a little more padding to make nesting more comfortable. I find this is true with all basket/nest type chairs so I wasn't surprised by the mild discomfort of the baskets ribs. Construction feels really solid. Both stand and chair feel VERY sturdy. I love furniture with suspension and/or rocking features so this is right up my alley. The enclosure and gently sway are incredibly soothing.
Overall I love my chair. Putting it together was a pain.
