I feel it is now so much more resistant than if I hadnt done it. Worth the extra steps and the extra time. Minimal to no creaking sounds, the drawers are almost perfect (just one with a 1 cm crack), the wooden planks didnt move when I put the mattress on top (if I hadnt screwed them to the base the planks wouldve been all over the place). And I added porcelain handles to the drawers: now its super pretty!

Do be careful to not use max torque the screws, since its still not real hard wood tho.
And as of Kindle Customers STEP 5 (STEP 5: Drill the corner braces using the 6x5/8 screw ) :
Firstly: DO IT BEFORE STEP 2 ! But the slats in the frame in step 2 yes, but do not screw them just yet; this will allow you to move the ones
close to the border a bit so you have more space to work with the corner braces.
Secondly, when he says: I found it helpful to put the top four horizontally (directly above the slats) and BOTTOM FOUR vertically (like an L,
inside the opening where the drawer will go) take heed: if you work with an electric drill I advise you to pre-drill the holes for the Bottom four,
at least on the part that is parallel to the floor (look at the drawing). When the bed is fully assembled there wont be enough space for a regular-
sized drill to fit and drill a straight hole for the corner brace in the drawer space.
Exactly what we expected for a bed that has drawers under it. Obviously the extra storage is great. I do recommend some additional securing of the running boards as they can fall out of the slot fairly easily. Some L-brackets and screws can easily be used to better secure them in place if you so choose.
Was easy to assemble but also came damage around the head bored. If something that comes in three boxes and all say team lift you would think the shipper would tell the carrier you will need an additional person to help with unloading the product. Im just glad my husband was home at time of delivery to help the driver.
Great purchase I love the drawers the only issue is the wooden boards piece the slide and basically come undone and I have to repeatedly put them back in place I may have to but my own like other did
Finally recieved this bed after some delivery issues. It is difficult to first find a twin XL bed and second one that is affordable. So far my son loves this bed. It is the perfect length for his long behind. Im giving it 4 stars because there a like a million wood pieces and screws to put together. The instructions could be a bit more clearer. It took us about 3 hours to put together. Make sure everything is screwed in tightly. Some bolts did not fit so we had to not put one in but it still holds up well. Debating getting the headboard especially if theres a million pieces to put together and well.
It cracks me up to read other peoples reviews. This is MY honest review. The frame is very affordable (which is great) so no one should expect Ashleys furniture quality. This is more like an kind of furniture. Its perfect for people with small rooms needing the extra storage space. Its not a beautiful frame. Its a practical piece of furniture. It was difficult putting it together. The instructions are not clear at all, but my husband is used to putting stuff together. Hes a handyman, so with a lot of patience, he was able to build it. It took him about 3 hours to build the bed frame. For a cheap frame, it is sturdy. Its excellent it has 3 drawers on each side. I was able to store my sons blankets and towels, and toys. My son loves the bed. I purchased a queen size frame and the mattress fitted prefect in there. I have no complaints. It arrived quickly. It served its purpose.
