I got this bed after moving back home due to school going virtual. My parent had downsized to an apartment after I went to college and space was limited. I needed a space to sleep and study. Its a 2 person job to put this bed together. Overall though, I have no complaints. Im a 22 female; 140 pounds and the bed has a good amount of sturdiness. I think its a great value for the money.
Super heavy box. Allen wrench screws that strip easily and some holes dont line up on the part. Took me 4 hrs. My son was happy with it so thats all that matters
Lets start from the beginning. Took about a week and a half from the time I ordered this bed to it being delivered. The box was hella heavy guys. Not even kidding. The spouse and I were struggling to get this up the stairs. Wound up cutting the box open and moving the pieces a few at a time. They were all intact with no damage.
The item itself is pretty good for the price we paid. I do have some issues. We bought the white version and the paint is very thin. I think it was just quickly airbrushed, and not very evenly overall. I already had an incident where the ladder got knocked as I was putting it on, and the paint scrapped clear off a part of the upper frame where it sits. I can tell touching up the paint is going to become a thing.
Also the directions are not the best. If youve ever assemble Ikea furniture, theyre on par, but perhaps slightly worse as none of the hardware is labeled and youre gonna spend half the time trying to figure out if youve got the right screws. I think I spent an hour just looking back and forth between the screws part list and the current instructions.
Overall, took me about 4 hours by myself, and my kid is ecstatic.
Bought white one for myself (I am an adult). A lot sturdier than I expected, but will be adding a piece of plywood on top of slats. You definitely need two people to assemble, at one point, we could have used 3 people. Just read directions carefully, otherwise you will get poles mixed up and have to take it apart. Happy with it!
This bed seems sturdy and the clay color is really nice. My only complaint is that the area under the bed isnt high enough for my 12 year old son to stand up in. It works fine if hes sitting at the , but he cant walk under it. I realize this is our mistakethe dimensions are there, and I obviously didnt double check. But between the name of the bed being high loft and it being rated to 400 lbs., we made the mistake of assuming (yeah, yeah I know the saying) that it would be taller than it actually is. We had hoped to use this bed through his high school years, but Im thinking he will be passing it down to his younger brother in just a couple of years (or growth spurts). Kind of a bummer because he was so excitedtook a little bit of the wind out of his sails once we realized how short it was. (And hes not a tall kidjust in general.)
the hardest step in assembling this bed was those smaller thin pieces of wood that slide into each end. Between myself and my stepfather, it took SO many tries to get them all to stay at once. they are not secure and wiggle. when you think you have all the slots in, you dont. Anyway, it was pretty funny and we figured it out eventually, but the wooden screws or whatever you call them are too loose for the hole and THAT was also a problem with them falling out over and over. Other than that, two thumbs up!
Large, sturdy. Squeeks a little. Im sure itll get worse as it gets older. No opening for getting in the bed from the ladder side. Stairs are very hard on feet

Unsturdy bed
It looks nice and serves its purpose.

Big hole
The box came with a big hole.
Ups and downs.

Better than expected

Just ok
The boards for the shelves came damaged. We got this for the phase my daughter is in now. Would not be good quality enough to last her for a decade.
Under Bed Area is shorter than you might expect
