We have been using this bed for less than 3 years for our kids. My daughter is now 6+ and is very lightweight for her age. The side rail of her bed broke last week. We checked online and found that we are not the only one who had this problem. We called customer support and they said that the warranty is only for 1 year. Something made of solid wood should last much more than that. I am really disappointed with the quality.
I live in a small place and my kids room has low ceilings. This bed was perfect for our situation. There were a lot of complaints about assembly in the reviews but I didnt find it too difficult. If you have worked with IKEA furniture, this doesnt seem too bad. The bed is great for younger kids but probably too small for older ones. Theres really no head clearance in the lower bunk so you cant really sit up unless youre small. Splitting the bed up to two single twins can be a solution if your room has the space. One last thing to note is that if you do split the beds, they are not identical. The bottom bed has a taller headboard.
bed arrived in 2 boxes. while all parts werent labeled, it was easy to figure them using direction sheet and label the ones that had no label. all hardware was there, easy to assemble, and was very sturdy. liked that it wasnt as tall as some of the other bunk beds. grandchildren love it. great bed for the money.
My wife and I have been in contact with manufacturer and still no resolve. The wrong leg/post was for the top bunk causing you not to be able to put the rail on the back side up.
We were looking for Bunk beds for company and since this set said it was not big,I bought it.My husband assembled it with absolutely no sweat.it is sturdy, very nice looking and a twin fits well.I bought a 8 memory foam for the bottom and it is TIGHTReally hard to put sheets on.
As advertised,we plan to separate the bunks and have I love lucy beds in the master. The sman look is perfect. And the beds are very well made.
Great product for the price. I really didnt have too many problems with the instructions and assembly, just a couple hiccups. My 17 month old son took to it immediately!
This is a great bedGood quality. I took me about 2.5 hours by myself to put together. One irritating thing about the directions. They are very specific about what piece of labeled wood to use on each step however, the wood pieces are not all labeled so its not as helpful as you would wantBoys love it. Seems sturdy. It does have a kind of chemical ish smell from the varnish that hung around a couple days.
Arrived super quick thanks to Prime ;)
Packaged great and with logical instructions. It was time consuming but over/all easy to put together (need two people).
Perfect size for my 1 bedroom, low ceiling mobile trailer. Now my girls have twin beds AND space to play.
Helpful Hints:
/Not every piece is labeled with a sticker but the pieces that matter have a label and the rest sort of fall into their place.
/Bottom bunk spacing is Not for teenagers, more for toddlers and young kids. I would say age 10 MAX
If I could give this product 0 stars I would. I ordered this bunk bed on Friday 2/14/14 with free prime customer 2/day shipping; my order arrived on the following Thursday, 2/20/14. When I got the delivery notice from UPS I took off of work to receive the package and get it setup for my boys before they got home from school.
1 / UPS did a door bell ditch they left the package on my door step rang the door bell and took off. It would have been nice to have them carry it into my front door at least because I had the drag this heavy package to the back of my house to my boys room.
2 / After cutting open the package and placing is piece in order to setup, I realized that something was missing. THE HEADBOARDSyes thats right all 4 headboards were missing the main piece of the bunk beds that hold everything together was not included in the package and I was not a happy camper.
3 / The directions are a joke pictures only no written instructions and the boards are not labeled as the instructions showing you to connect A to Z; out of all the pieces included only 3 of them had stickers on them to say what piece it was.The rest you would have to play the guessing game.
After triple checking my package I confirmed that the headboards were not included so I placed a call to customer service at about 4pm. It took me explaining to the rep 4 times before she understood the problem that I was having and finally said that they would replace the item free of charge and I would receive the replacement bunkbeds by 2/25/14 (5 days more)
I was highly upset because I had already taken down my older sons bed and removed my younget sons toddler bed, so this rep expected me to go without beds for my boys for 5 days and I even explained that to her but she said she could do nothing more to get it to me sooner. So what could I do? NOTHING but accept that (at least in that moment)
My kids got home and saw the box for the beds and immediately started jumping for joy that they were going to have bunkbeds by the end of the night, imagine the looks on their faces when I told them that I had to send the beds back and wait 5 days until the new ones came; it was a horrific moment to dissappoint my kids. My husband came to me and suggested why dont you just find the beds somewhere else locally and lets get them the beds tonight because thats all the boys have been talking about all week.
Immediately my super mom powers kicked in and I got online and started checking and calling stores and I found one in stock the color I wanted at our local Kmart. I rushed over to the store and purchased the bunk beds, 2 matching dressers and a armoir for 300.00, The best deal everthe bunk beds only cost 160. I dont know why I didnt do that to begin with.
My husband and I got the beds setup and even though we didnt finish until about 11:30 pm, we put our boys in their beds while they were sleeping (they feel asleep in our bed). When they woke up for school in the morning in their new beds, it was like a christmas morning Super Mom and Dad to the rescue.
I called and told them to cancel the replacement and issue me a refundHows that for resolution
Disappointed to put this together. Its a lot more rickety than I had hoped and we followed the fairly simple directions. Doesnt come with an Allen wrench which you will need to put it together. The first night I sat on it (300 lbs) with my son (100 lbs) and the slats fell off the bottom. We fixed it by drilling them in and not leaning against the back anymore. Its against the wall and we were all the way against it. I give these beds 4 years max before they are trash.
