Bought a futon pad that I thought came with a frame. It didnt so I ordered this frame and used it with the other brands pad. Given its size and sturdiness it is surprisingly easy to assemble. Clear direction and color coordinating make it hard to get it wrong. It comes with Allen wrenches but I used a ratcheting screw driver. Much easier. You will also need a Phillips head. My wife and I assembled it in about 1.5 to 2 hours. Its heavier than some frames but sturdier too. Not any harder to move than a normal couch. Only complaint is that its a bit hard to change between couch and bed. The base is a little too light so the whole thing moves rather than unfolding. With two people. One on each end. It is perfectly easy to change. Would buy again if I needed. I expect it will last a good long time.

The parts seem to be well made and strong. The paper directions were good video instructions work fantastic. It was not too difficult to put together, with a little patience and when together Well. There is only a slight issue where 1 or 2 screws did not want to go in smoothly but that was because it wasnt fully lined up correctly; it took some wiggling of the frame. Definitely follow the instructions when it says to keep all the bolts loose until it says to tighten them fully. I was able to put together myself but a friend would deftly be helpful. It came with 1 or 2 pieces scuffed up but theyre hidden by the mattress. It is very sturdy and looks fine.
Great futon, I looked at several and for the quality and being made of solid material this is the best deal by far. Its very nice looking and the mattress and a very comfortable. It is a little hard to move back into the seat position but after looking at the website and their instructions on how to properly do it I have had no issues. The cover is soft and looks great. Easy to clean and vacuums easily. The material color is beautiful with a slight grey tint. Assembly wasnt too bad. My 12 year old son and I put it together on about an hour and a half. I would highly recommend this futon.
I am a 54 year old 115 pound grandma and managed to assemble this futon by myself. For sure it would have been quicker and easier with a second person, but I managed and it wasnt too bad. Its comfortable and seems to be really sturdy. It looks nice and I am happy with my purchase. I would buy again.
