This futon is perfect for our sitting room. Well made and comfortable.
My criticism: the boxes were in horrible condition. Thankfully the futon itself was not damaged.
It looks exactly like the pictures and wasnt too difficult to put together. However, we did need to use a mattress topper to just make it more comfortable because it is a little hard. Other than that I am happy with my purchase!
For months, I researched futons (for our guest room thats being converted to my getaway) until making myself CRY! I ultimately selected this item because of the reputable brand and the price. I also wanted arms, a walnut finish and dark mattress.
The futon arrived ahead of schedule and was carefully wrapped in three packages. Instructions, both written and the video, were straightforward and appreciated. Those accustomed to putting things together will not have problems with assembly.
As mentioned in other reviews, the material is lovely, although more gray than brown which is just fine by me. Also, the navy color description is misleading, as this is more akin to a peacock blue (which I like).
My friend (who is quite handy) and I easily put this together, and I find it aming that some reviewers reported going solo. Not due to difficulty, but because of needing to balance heavy pieces, etc.
While assembling, we noticed the left arm was damaged. I called the folks in MN, and we had a replacement in three days. Slight inconvenience, yet good customer service/recovery.
The four/star rating is only because we havent used it for sleeping yet. However, the futon is quite sturdy and comfortable when sitting/lying on it.
I was a bit reluctant to buy something like this without kicking the tires so to speak, and I relied heavily on the hundreds of comments I reviewed. The overall process went well, and Im pleased with the result.
Not bad however its not meant to sit up straight as the back leans back too far when in its upmost position. So if you want to be able to drink your coffee and watch tv get ready to lean back. Definitely needs pillows for support. From what I recall the picture used for the futon frame itself was a different model so what I received wasnt what I was expecting.

Good jobs guys. Product is as depicted in the photo, is sturdy as it looks and conversion to a bed is easy. Very clear and organized instructions and the fasteners are even packaged and numbered with the steps in the instruction manual. The two position stops (upright and recline are a nice feature. There are a few pieces to assemble and it takes an hour or so but that facilitates condensed packaging. The packaging was very good. The only suggestion I have is to add one more slat on the back and bottom. Unless you have a very thick pad you can feel the gaps. I ended up adding a 1/4 in piece of plymaterial under the mattress and that fixed the issue.

Sturdy and comfortable
This is a very sturdy futon with comfortable mattress. Will definitely be purchasing another one in the future for another room in our house.
