Ive only slept on this mattress 2 nights now (so I may have to update this in a few months), BUT I have to say Im very impressed. I didnt have high hopes just because I wasnt able to feel it obviously before purchasing, but its great. It expanded to its full size within a few hours, so I was able to use it the first night I had it. Its SO soft but also firm so i dont feel like Im just sinking into it (in a non/supportive way). I feel like all my limbs and back/neck are being supported correctly. I havent woken up with my usual aches, pains and headaches like I normally do and I feel so much more rested in the morning. It feels like Im being hugged while i sleep. Its really nice, I cant wait to go to sleep tonight
I purchased a King size direct from not from . I read complaints about these mattresses being lumpy and not inflating to their full size after sitting in a warehouse for a month. I should have ordered it from . However, it was delivered (free shipping) in 8 days which I rate as good.
This is a firm mattress. The top is soft but I would rate it 7.5 on a scale 10. 10 would be very firm / almost hard. You dont really sink in much and it has bounce so its easy to move around while you sleep. Very good edge support and motion isolation.
It did have some lumps when we first opened it. They smoothed out in about 36 hours. I think that is normal for these mattresses. I detected no odor whatsoever.
Be careful unwrapping it. As a hybrid it is not folded and then rolled. It is just rolled with the springs on the inside. So it ours came out upside down.
We laid it out still rolled up on the bed and tried to remove the outer packaging so we could reposition it before we removed the inner packaging. After getting most of the outer layer off it suddenly exploded. Only my feelings were hurt but it surprised us. Trying to flip it over after that was not easy.
I see no defects in the mattress. It is even and completely uniform. We have slept on it 2 nights and it is taking some time to get used to it. I may add a topper but I will wait a couple of weeks.
EDIT: After 3 nights I could not sleep on it any longer. The backache and shoulder and hip pain I felt was too much. However, we took a latex topper from another bed and put it on this one (it was a 2 queen size topper but we made it work) and that made all the difference to me. It gave it another layer of softness which was just right. I slept on it last night and woke up pain free.
I will leave my rating as 4 stars, but be forewarned that this is very firm mattress and you sleep on the top of it. I weigh 180 and my wife is 130. I do NOT sink in at all. Also, the motion isolation is just average / not exceptional.
EDIT: After sleeping on this mattress for 3 weeks I have removed a star. If you want a mattress for motion isolation do NOT buy this one. In my opinion it is no better than a traditional mattress and much worse than a pure foam mattress. I suspect all hybrid mattresses are this way except possibly the very expensive ones. We even bought a new platform bed to provide a sturdy surface yet I can still feel my wife moving around. (Granted, she moves a lot during the night) I have another week to decide, but I may return this mattress for a gel foam one.
Ive had this bed for about a year now and I feel like I can give it an honest review. The setup was pretty easy but Id suggest you make sure the top is facing up and its sitting where you want it when you cut the bag as it is heavy as heck to move once inflated. Mine ended up upside down and because I was doing it by myself I had a heck of a time flipping it over. With that said it is suuuuper comfy and has honestly relieved pretty much all of my lower back pain. I used to wake up several times a night tossing and turning trying to get comfortable and now I sleep through the night. Its on the firmer side, which I prefer but definitely gives and bounces back nicely. There was a bit of an odor when I first got it but it dissipated over a short time. My only qualm is that once in a while I get too hot but I do run warm anyway. I bought percale sheets and they seem to help keep me cooler.
Pleasantly sirprised at the improvement in my ability to sleep through the night. I am a stomach sleeper and like the firmness, with a soft layer for comfort. I would not recommend this model (Island) for side sleepers.
This mattress is FIRM. Not medium firm. FIRM. I had a Sattva Extra Firm mattress and this is has a wee bit more give. But I like firm and it is a solid mattress for the price. Solid. Im going to put a 2 inch topper under a mattress pad for a bit more give, but even with achy aging hips this is very comfortable. Recommend!!! If you like FIRM.
Great for those of us with back issues. Enough cushion for comfort, but doesnt sink down with body weight. I was nervous about ordering a mattress on line, but I am extremely pleased.

Firm and soft at the same time
Im 53, 145lbs and its medium firm but still soft. You can remove the mattress cover easily and wash it.
