First I really like this machine. The controls are easy and mostly intuitive. It comes with the bare minimum of what youll need to get started accessory wise. The improvements Ive decided to make are: 1)Non/pressurized basket. 2)Bottomless portafilter. 3)Calibrated tamper. 4)Coffee distributor. 5)Dosing funnel. 6)Knock box. 7)Frothing pitcher. While these are not a must have I find they just make the experience better from a consistency and cleanup prospective. As long as you use the stock pressurized basket you dont really need a distributor and tamper. The first bottomless portafilter I bought was apparently designed for DeLonghi and didnt fit (the locking ears are a little too thick and wide). I found one that looks like it will fit but has not arrived yet, Ill link it below along with the other parts I chose that do work. If the linked portafilter doesnt work Ill update my review in a few days. In conclusion This machine has thus far met my expectations and I am happy with it. I personally like the buttons and overall design better than the competing Delonghi I was considering. If you want a fancy portafilter and have some crafting skills I believe someone skilled with a dremel and grinding/cutting disk could modify a Delonghis locking ears to make it fit. Though I dont recommend it unless you are skilled.
It makes great toast, period. It has a lot of fancy buttons that have been condensed on most other toasters Ive had. I think the best feature is that you get a visual countdown of when your toast will be done.
It took me a while to figure out how to use it, simply because I was trying to clean it and also work the steamer, but wow, its aming. Once I got the hang of it, I taught my 12 year old niece and its so simple even she was able to work it! You have to have patience, and the User manual literally tells you everything you need to know, especially why you shouldnt immediately go from steam to espresso. Aming!!
If you can use your cell phone, you can use this toaster.
Heres the deal. Push the power button in the lower right hand corner, which will be the only lighted button you can push when its turned off. From there, things will light up and if you have any technical savvy, even a small technical bone in you, you can figure it out. You push what you want, plunge your plain bread into the heated abyss, and wait for crunchy toasted goodness.
The one simply means one slice. Meaning, the far left toaster slot when selecting the one will give you just one section heated for one slice of toast.
I can also confirm the bagel setting works great by only heating one side if you follow the model shown in two locations on the toaster.
I have found the darkness setting to be pretty good overall, with a pleasing amount of difference between each setting. I also love that the darkness gauge which is lighted, blinks down as it gets closer to being finished. Nice touch.
Overall, I couldnt be happier with this toaster! My family is using this now multiple times a day.
I have three young granddaughters who all want to be fed at the same time. Kids these days. But its no longer a problem when it comes to morning to toast thanks to this handy toaster. Before I had a two/slice toaster that was probably 10 years old. It was fine, until it wasnt. And then the toast wouldnt brown and my grandkids had to wait for their breakfast. Theyre no longer going hungry. I put the slices in, alter the settings depending on the kid, and voila! The toast pops. Its consistently brown on both side. And ready to go. This particular machine comes with a bunch of settings my old one didnt have. Theres a defrost setting, a reheat button, a bagel option, and a button to add 30 seconds to the present job. Theres a also 1 slot specifically designed for when Im only slicing 1 piece at a time. That button is called theONE.
Ive got to say, I probably couldnt tell the difference between the myriad options. But maybe your tastes are more discerning than my grandchildrens. Oh, and of course, you can select the length of toasting that you prefer and adjust the toaster accordingly. Its a good looking machine that is effective. And thats what I wanted.
One warning: run the toaster for a cycle or two on empty after you take it out of the box. Its good to burn off any factory residue. In fact, the first time I ran mine (on empty), my smoke detector went off. So I decided to run it empty twice more to make sure. The sides did get a little warm to the touch, but nothing unexpected.
Also worth mentioning that electrical cord is on the short side. Not a problem here. But something worth keeping in mind if it might be a problem for you.
Such a cool toaster! Four slots and a touchscreen, this thing is so beautiful on my kitchen counter. More importantly it works really well and is very user friendly.
The video I provided flickers, thats just my camera! The product itself is perfect and the buttons all work so well, you dont have to press them again. This is a great addition to my kitchen and Im very happy with it.
