All the reviews are true. Rough finish and it is good quality wood so I will just refinish it myself. Still good for the buck. Solid stiff hinges on the lift top. Locks into place so you need so pull a pin to release it to lower it back down. Satisfied with my purchase.
Love this table. Works great for sitting on couch for lap top, eating etc. Great value and easy assembly. Arrived well packed and on time. I ordered black and got black. Good buy.
Did a bit of shopping around, read a lot of reviews (amazing how many people leave bad reviews when something isnt the size they expected although the dimensions are clearly listed) before settling on this item. Was a little wary as quite a few bad reviews mentioned incorrect colour item sent. Nearly did not purchase for this reason but I decided to take a chance.
Item arrived promptly and assembly was fairly smooth and quick. Nothing of real note outside of one screw being misshapen (the screw head had an elongated blob attached, I temporarily fitted it until I could go to a hardware store for a replacement) until I finished assembly and turned the table over at which time I noticed several flaws marring the surface of the table top. The mark looked almost as though the table top had been lightly run over. There were a few small black tyre-like tread marks which I was able to minimize with some very light sanding.
Though not perfect the quick repair works fairly well as the table is for use at my craft station and is usually covered with tools and supplies.
Very sturdy, very attractive the table is a weathered antique white and will hopefully last quite some time.
I took a star off for the lack of quality control in regards to the screw and the marred table top. There was one other small ding but as it is on the inside of one of the lower shelves it is hardly visible.
