Sturdy. Easy to assemble, I set them up by myself. It requires only the hex wrench that comes with it. I bought two sets, the first set took longer than the second set, but overall it was easy. Watch the little plastic plugs, they can break easily and you only get one extra. If youre setting it up with two people I would recommend putting one of the top cross bars on first even though the instructions say to put the bottom ones on first. That way the ends will stand on their own while you put other cross bars on. Also, the metal bed supports, start at the wall end and go to the open side, doing only a few bars at a time with all the pieces required.
