    Making Top Bed Torturous

The ladder is killer on your feet unless you weigh less than 40 lbs. . I bought rubber drawer liner to wrap around the ladder steps, to pad them, then secured them with zip ties both in black. Also, I didnt think about this till after it was put together, but you cant prop up your pillow on the bottom bed, like if you want to read or watch tv. Also, because both ends are open, with no railing, your pillow is susceptible to falling off the bed when youre asleep. Last I absolutely hate hate hate making the top bed! Ugh it is sooo difficult. I use a step ladder and have to move it all around the bed with me. You have to lift the mattress on all 4 corners to put the fitted sheet on and since Im not standing above the mattress, like I would with a regular bed, I dont have the strength or leverage to lift it up. Its also really a pain to tuck in a top sheet and a comforter or blanket. Every time I do this, I am chanting, I hate this!! the entire time Im making the bed. We use the bunk bed for guests so we need the bed to be made but if you dont care if the bed is made or not you dont have to deal with this. Just thinking about it gets me annoyed. Fast service.

    Sturdy and spacious!

The bed is pretty sturdy. Our 12 yr old is on the top bunk. Shes a wild sleeper, but there is enough lip that we dont worry about her falling off. Our 17 yr old gets up there with her sometimes as well. There are no weight concerns with them up there at the same time. Worth the price !!!

    Great product

This is actually a really great product. Weve had ours about a year now and it has really held up well. Its very sturdy and doesnt make me feel uneasy on the top like most bunk beds do. Best purchase I ever made for my kids. My only small gripe is that there is a TON of screws that put this bad boy together. Thats probably why its so sturdy though. Im just scared about moving and having to take it apart again lol Very pleased!

Be gentle with the bed and you should be fine.

I have had the bed for about four months now. If bigger people are on the top bunk, it will squeak a lot when they are moving. If the bigger people are on the bottom and the smaller on top, its doable. Still squeaks, but not as bad. I have not tried tightening the bolts yet but I am sure that would help along with some squirts of wd/40. I am happy with the purchase because it gives us so much more sleeping space as well as floor space underneath the bed. Well made, easy to assemble and useful.

    Simple to assemble

Simple to put together. Took me about an hour to complete. Instructions could have been better but it was quite easy to figure out. There were warning stickers for cancer on the rails. Product contains formaldehyde. Solid and basic.

Rough instructions and poor bolt hole line up.

As I assembled this frame it was clearly evident that the pieces were made in isolation. Most of the bolts were able to connect with minimal effort. However, there was one that the post and the support were at least one inch off. The instructions while complete were very hard to see and unless the assembler knew before hand were easily missed. A simple fix to this would be to increase the size of the exploded views and add one sentence to the description to clarify placement.
