Other than it taking close to a month to get to us (I had to pick it up at the local UPS warehouse because it was stuck there due to an incorrect address label) / its a great bed. My 16 year basically assembled it by herself. We love it!
Bed frame is well built. Took my wife and I about 3 hours to assemble and instructions were easy to fallow. Packaging was well done with lots of extra padding for protection. Love the bed well worth the price.
The image looks good, the problem is you can not see underneath where the child on the lower bunk looks up to see a wooden unfinished frame.
the upper bunk has a very cheap frame made of unfinished wood (splinters) and is unsightly for anyone especially children going to bed. I was able to assemble the bed within 1 hour by myself, but unpack the box upon delivery and bring in all the parts as the box weighs a ton. No Mattresses included as described, but you can not use any mattress, you must buy the hard base ones or else the kids will feel those wooden slat boards. I may have to go to Home Depot and purchase piece of wood and fix this bed so its safe and comfortable. I used white duct tape to cover the wood cross bars or else splinters galore.
First of all, I read a lot of the reviews on this product. I was a little afraid when some people commented about cracked boards. I am an electrical contractor for thirty plus years. I watched two of my electricians put the bed together. It took about three hours. I had NO cracks. Most importantly I am very impressed with the quality and solidness (if thats a word) of this bed. The wood slats for the mattresses are spaced perfectly and in abundance. Excellent product and what a value for the money.
This bed was easy to put together but had some scratches when it arrived. Like others have stated, this material seems to dent/scratch easily. Overall construction seems fairly sturdy. Might not hold up to heavy abuse. The cross members flex quite a bit.
A SOLID WOOD piece of furniture! / Extremely unusual for a DIY, RTA piece of furniture. The railings, headboard, and footboard are plywood, and the slats are solid pine. The quality is impressive for the price. All of the pieces and parts were present and aligned perfectly. The assembly instructions are adequate. You should probably use a separate piece of thin plywood, luan, or very heavy cardboard (i.e., the beds packaging material) over the slats to avoid damaging the mattresses. Probably mandatory with foam mattresses.
Helpful hints:
You will need a power drill/driver (ideally with an adjustable torque clutch) and another set of hands.
Be sure not to over tighten the wood screws, although the bolts and nuts require a bit more torque.
Carefully orient the headboards and footboards during assembly so that the upper and lower bunks align and adjoin.
Dry/fit the headboards and footboards flat on the floor before tightening fasteners.
Overall, I was very surprised by the high quality of this RTA bunk bed.

Nice bed
Lots of pieces to put together! But very well labeled! Best if put together with two people. My granddaughter loves it.

Bed was nice quality, some holes were not drilled properly or put in the exact place which made putting it together kind of tough.
Great fornthe price

I purchased a foam mattress as others had mentioned, but product states not to use foam. Product should state such in description.
