we thought it looked like a good buy

We put a lot of trust in a previous review by The Don Liam when we purchased this bed. I have 2 boys who are 11 and 12. They are husky but no where near the weight of the fellas talked about in said review. Thinking this would last several years, we thought it looked like a good buy. Two supports under it have broken off completely, the ladder continues to break and hurts your feet when you climb it. It squeaks and is quite unstable when my youngest is climbing to the top. Less than a year later, we are having to purchase a new bed. This might be great for young, very small in stature children but certainly not for kids that weigh over 120. Very disappointed and I believe the noted review was bogus.

We received the loft bed/desk but the desk shelf was damaged.

Arrived Damaged Twice, Broken Parts, Rust All over, Gouged.

We replaced an Ikea bunk bed with this loft bed so my daughter could have more space in her room. However, we should have stayed with Ikea. The first bed arrived so damaged, that UPS didn't even bother asking us if we wanted it--they returned it on our behalf. The second bed also arrived damaged with dented, gouged, scratched, and bent pieces. Looking at a huge mess of a box with parts all over I opted to try to salvage it instead of trying to fit it back in a box. I felt like someone dumped a box of metal on my property, floored it, and now it was my problem. The damage is not all due to the courier, the packing is sorely lacking. As we were going through the parts our hands were covered with a fine rust. Parts of the white finish is badly stained with what can best be described as "rail dust" which settles on white cars in industrial areas. Washing didn't work. Magic eraser didn't work. I'm going to try treating it with something like Carpro's Iron out to see if it's effective. Its probably from cutting metal in close proximity to where they packaged the painted parts. The dust is inside the plastic bags that most of the parts come in. Let's hope it's not also in the lungs of the ones doing the cutting... and mine for that matter. One of the photos I've included shows the rust, note that this is after I scrubbed the finish--it's on almost every part. Assembly took a lot of time. I'm very capable, the problem was trying to hide the worst damaged pieces against a wall or in some other way. Unfortunately some of the mattress slats were too far gone to think about using. I have to disagree with the reviewers who said it feels sturdy. The lack of a cross bar that a traditional bunk would have makes the bed pretty flexible, and my daughter didn't feel safe. I definitely suggest using the included L-brackets. I mounted one into a stud and the bed felt much better. If you're reading this you probably have read that you need to be careful about the low rails, those reviewers are dead on. Make sure your mattress is thin enough that you won't have a problem. This purchase was a slippery slope and a personal lesson in the sunk cost fallacy. Does it have positives? Absolutely, the saved space is great, construction is ok, price is ok. But really, do I need another project? Should I have to track down the company and ask for replacement large parts? Is it worth it? I don't know I guess we will see if they follow up. A solid two stars thus far.

NO opening at the top of the ladders!!

We should have noticed from the pics, but alas, we did not. This bed does not have an opening at the top of the ladder, requiring the user to hoist their body over the rails to get into bed. Total pain the rear! Quality of materials and construction is fine, but poorly designed. Sending back.

Great inexpensive low-profile bed for kids

We use this as a bed for our toddler. It is the lowest profile that I have seen. We will get bunk beds at some point for our boys and wanted something that we could potentially use somewhere else in the house at that time. I love that it is low to the ground so it was an easy transition for our little boy. It might be too big to slide under some beds with a regular mattress on top, but one could always put the higher bed on a little block if you needed an extra inch or so to slide the trundle under. Be sure to measure how much room you have under the bed, but also the dimensions of the over all bed. We have an antique canopy bed and I think that this is a little bigger than the footprint of that bed. We put a 7 inch foam mattress on this from Brentwood (purchased on ) and our little guy loves it. Also, I warned my husband from other reviews that it might take a while to put together and that he should leave extra time to do it. I don't know if it was the challenge or if it really is easy to put together, but he had it finished in 10-15 minutes.

    Maximizes space effectively

We wanted to maximize our bed space for when the grands spend the weekends. This loft is large enough for a queen bed to fit perpendicularly underneath. I still have room to get on either side to make the bed. 4 or 5 little ones can sleep in the space of a queen bed! I did buy LED clamp lamps for underneath because it felt a bit cave like. (A positive for the grands who like having a good tent area.) And I followed the suggestion to wrap the ladders with black pool noodle insulation for comfort. I am very pleased.

Product came with damaged desk top and missing parts

We were 2 days working to assemble the bed to notice in the end that the desk top had the edges damaged and had missing bed trails and the plastic tab locks . Also, owner manual alerts that bed must be attached to the wall however there is way to proceed as the bed do not have support for it. I wrote to the manufacturer asking to replace parts, but no feedback so far. PS. paint covers scratch very easily.

    Great for College Students!

We were able to fit a full-sized bed with a frame underneath parallel with absolutely no issues. We don't have it anchored to the wall, but it is in the corner of the room. It has started to shake a little after 5 months of use, but it doesn't squeak - we should just be able to tighten it up, and it'll be fine. We left off one of the railings so that it's easier to climb into - now if I don't fall out of the bed, it'll be great!

    My daughter is thrilled

We were ready for a big girl bed for our 2nd daughter... but not quite ready for bunk beds. This was a fantastic solution. We fit a toddler bed under this junior loft. Our 18 month old fits absolutely fine, even I (5’5”) fit sitting underneath. My older daughter is thrilled as the top bunk and she can now share her twinkle lights ( we wrapped them under the bars for her sister below so they both have twinkles and no choking hazards.) My 140lb mom in law got up on top to adjust the curtain and there was a little wiggle but nothing you wouldn’t notice from usual bed wiggle. My 5 year old had no problems negotiating the ladder shelves after 2 practice runs. I can’t get her out of it now.
