Decent quality, Made in USA, Easy assembly...until the final step

We got this bed for my 5 year old. It has literally only been assembled about an hour, but the overall quality seems acceptable. I'm about 135 pounds, and I had to climb onto the top to finish assembly. Even with my fear of heights, the bed seemed plenty sturdy. My biggest issue is that the final step, putting these little plastic clips over the support bars (the ones that go under the mattress) was...well...I'd love to use some colorful language to describe it. Suffice it to say, that part took longer than assembling the entire bed. What I finally came up with was using painters tape to hold the clip in place, holding a pair of needlenose pliers against the tape, and hitting the side of the pliers with a hammer. That took me from about a 50% break rate and at least 75% failure rate to about 80% success. It's a good thing they sent extra clips, though I still ended up several short. I think by the time I was done, I'd broken at least a dozen of them! My 5 year old was helping me, and I really do NOT use language, ESPECIALLY around my kids, but I'll admit to slipping a time or two. I was beyond frustrated. I can't justify rating the bed lower because of one, non-supporting component, but they REALLY need to come up with a better way of locking the support bars down!

    Excellent Bed!

We got this bed for my daughter (age 5) and we are very happy with it. She loves it! It's very solid, as other reviewers said. Takes a while to put together but that's a good thing as that's what makes it solid. I set up a play area underneath it and my daughter is thrilled with it. Excellent for space saving in a small room.

Incorrect labels, but still a great bed

We got this bunk for our 14 year old and 9 year old sons to share. Our 14 year old is 5'7 and us sleeping on the bottom bunk with plenty of headspace! It is sturdy- I saw that other reviewers mentioned it not being sturdy but I have to wonder if they tightened the bolts well? It was a bit of a bear to put together as our parts were labeled incorrectly, but the boys and I were still able to figure it out and get it put together. It took us about 2.5 hours total. All in all it seems like a great bed- it's their first night sleeping in it so time will tell but they drifted off comfortably.

    Great bed for the price

We got this for our 3 year old. Creates a lot more space in a small room. She loves sitting in her chair under her bed reading to her animals. Great bed for the price!

    Good for the price

We got this for our daughter's 12th birthday. It gives her a lot more space in her bedroom and leaves sufficient room between the mattress and the ceiling for her to sit up. The assembly instructions left a little too much to the imagination. The drawings of the parts were not accurate, but we did get it put together and our daughter loves it, except that the ladder hurts her feet, but I am going to try something with a pool noodle and duct tape, and I will edit this later to say how it worked.

    Grandsons LOVE this!

We got this for our grandsons (age 6 and 4); my daughter-in-law had no difficulty assembling it - it is sturdy and stable and the kids love it. It arrived as promised and in good condition. It seems like a very economical solution and we are pleased.

I would not use this for adults

We got this for visiting young nephews and specifically looked for one that would also work for adults for when we have other guests. I am a 42 year-old at 120 pounds. When I climbed the ladder to put the sheets on with no one on the bottom bunk, I noticed there is a definite tip-over hazard. All I would have had to do is swing my hips and pull and the whole thing would be pretty easy to tip over. So although I’m sure the weight limit is correct, I don’t think whoever designed this took climbing the ladder with no one on the bottom bunk into consideration. Additionally, the ladder has round metal poles (instead of flat steps) that hurt your feet when you climb. Will this work for a 7 and 5 year-old? Yes. Would I put an adult guest on the top bunk? Absolutely not.

    Can't Go Wrong

We got two of these beds. My husband and older daughter (age 12) assembled them with no trouble. They seem sturdy. They don't notice any wobbling or anything like that. They are great. Buy one today.

    A Good Buy

We had this for about 1 1/2 years. We are happy with it. Let's be clear, this is a cheep bed. You can spend a lot more. But, this is far more sturdy that it appears. Compared to other loft beds in the same price range, I think this is a very good deal. Assembly was a MAJOR chore. The steel is sturdy, and the holes never match perfectly, so getting it together took a bit of manhandling. I bought this for a 20-something daughter who moved back in with us to return to college. She had a lot more stuff when she moved back in, so this loft design fits her needs well. She keeps her dresser and storage underneath, rather than the typical college desk under. Pros: Good price, VERY Good value It's very sturdy. The design allow easy storage AND access underneath. Cons: Assembly was a big pain. Taking away 1-star from an otherwise great product
