The pencil thin spin of the queen size version of this loft bed began to snap from the bed rails about a year into owning it. In almost exactly 2 years 3 rails have snapped as well.
I was told it could carry the weight of approx 300 lbs. I'm 230.
It's a sleek, cool looking loft bed, but it won't last.
We have owned this bed for 3 years. It is great! My son is 15 and fits it just fine. It has not scratched or dented in all of the time we have had it. It still looks just like when we bought it. I feel it is a very sturdy bed. We have not had any problems like the other reviewer. He must be too heavy for a loft type bed! It doesn't shake or sway at all when someone is up top. The desk has held up well and is sturdy. I would buy this bed again!
My teenage daughter is thrilled with it and we had fun building it. [You will not have fun building it unless you are handy. It is important to organize the parts and understand the instructions. You will have to put in screws while holding heavy things in place.] Two people are required, a third is helpful on occasion. It is sturdy. It is nifty. It is delivered by a freight truck. Unless you have a loading dock, it is delivered curbside, meaning it is put on the ground next to the road and you transport the two very big and heavy boxes (approx. 200 and 300 lbs) to your door. The truck does not come up your driveway. The trucking company requires you to be home at THEIR convenience. You get to choose which week day (they call it at your convenience) but they tell you sometime in the afternoon or whenever that trucking company does residential deliveries.
I bought this bed for my teenage son who wanted more space in his room. The bed structure is stiff and stable. Assembly was straight forward, everything fit without adjustment or modification. It shipped in two large flat bundles on a pallet. There was plenty of cardboard for good protection from freight rash, so no damage occurred. Be prepared for it to be heavy enough that two people are needed to move and assemble. Also the volume of packing material and cardboard is significant to get rid of.

We had to assemble it in stages downstairs because each box was too heavy to carry upstairs in its entirety, then we moved those pieces upstairs to assemble the final thing in his bedroom. It is VERY stable, and the design is very functional. It's stylish for a young man's room and maximizes space in an otherwise small room. We're able to get quite a bit under the bed - he has had a futon under there for friends when they visit, an additional drafting table, and right now he has his office chair, dirty laundry basket, and some additional storage shelves. He loves this bed, and we do too.
