We purchased the Twin size platform bed. First, the bed is exactly what we needed for our son who has graduated from his baby crib. It's low, not too high off the ground (even with a thick mattress). Easy to assemble, and much sturdier than Ikea Brand beds.

So, if the box comes in good shape, you've got yourself a fantastic bed. [...]
The bed comes from a Canadian company and I live in Southern Florida, so the shipment had to travel quite far. The box arrived beaten, crumpled, and practically in tatters so I was anticipating a damaged product. Fortunately, the parts are separated and packaged in such a way that there wasn't even a scratch!
Building it was surprisingly easy and didn't require any real muscular effort. I've assembled furniture from Target, Walmart, and K-Mart, and this was by far the best. Very user-friendly instructions. It came with a dark touch up marker in the event you scratch any of the wood.
Material is very nice quality with a rich color. The components all fit as promised. The drawers slide in and out nicely. The handles of the drawers look classy. While they don't have sharp edges, they are metal so if you bang into them, OUCH.
I had very low expectations due to the low price of this bed, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
P.S.---the bed does sit low to the floor, so you may wish to measure in your room ahead of time to see if you need a higher bed.
I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this bed for my son after reading the other reviews. I am a single mom who is not very good at putting things together, but at this price, I couldn't resist attempting it, and I'm glad I did! I found the directions to be VERY easy to follow, I took my time and read each step and made sure I was doing everything exactly as directed. It took me about 4 hours, which I'm sure many people would consider to be too much time to spend on this kind of task, but keep in mind that I did it completely on my own, and I had already planned on spending a full day working on it and was very pleased that it didn't take quite that long! The bed is very sturdy - my 8 year old son and I can lay on it together without worrying that it's going to collapse - and I love how it looks in his room. The only complaint I have with it is that there were a couple times that the holes didn't line up just right (on the drawers only), and I read about other people having this issue too, however I was able to make it work without having to use power tools, so I'm sure anyone else could too. If you're thinking about purchasing this bed, I encourage you to do it. I love it, my son loves it, and as long as you keep in mind that you get what you pay for, I'm sure you will too!
You can't beat the price of this bed and it is a cinch to put together. My 14 year old assembled hers all by herself in just over a couple of hours. The bed is sturdier than you would expect for the price and is very nice to look at. We've had this for a little over two months and have zero complaints.
the bed frame was very easy to assemble. i bought this because it was almost exactly like my previous bed frame which bed broke, crack and was poorly assembled and everything was stapled instead of screwed in. this bed frame however was made much stronger and it was very easy to assemble. it took me about 3hours to assemble. the drawers uses a plastic slider instead the the metallic rollers which is not exactly a bad thing. overall it was great value!!!
First of all let me warn you this bed requires assembly. Take your time. Follow instructions closely and you won't have any problems. The packaging was excellent, protecting the contents. No missing pieces. It's a great bed for the price. I also purchased a 10 memory foam mattress for the twin bed. Perfect fit. I love it.
I recently bought this bed for my 2-year-old son. It was easy to put together by myself and it is sturdy and well made for an inexpensive bed. The only downside I have found is the drawers aren't on rollers and are hard to pull in and out. I bought this bed to be able to keep my son's toys in the drawers and he is able to pull them out just enough to get his toys out but he can't pull them all the way out so I can't put any bigger toys in there. He also can't push them closed because they stick, which means he's fallen over the drawers trying to get out of bed sometimes. I'm going to try another reviewer's suggestion of putting olive oil on them to see if that will help. If it weren't for the drawers sticking I would have given this bed 5 stars.
I bought this bed because when I was researching box spring mattresses, but was getting so discouraged because the cheapest one I could find had a $200 delivery fee.
I hopped on and started searching for a basic little platform bed. I liked this one because it was under $150, and had drawers. I then purchased a 7 memory foam mattress from Overstock. It fits so perfectly!
Bed came in a box that had a few rips, but the bed itself seemed okay. My husband was dubious as he pulled the pieces out and checked them, because some of the particle board had cracks in it. But, a little wood glue and some clamps, and I guess it worked out, because he put it all together himself one Saturday morning (yay daddy!) I set it up with some cute bedding, and presto, our little girl transitioned from a toddler bed to a big girl bed.
I moved her clothes to the drawers just in time for the new baby who took over the dresser, and she is a very happy little girl. If this lasts, it will be classy enough to make it through to high school. I may buy another one and store it in the garage for my newborn!
Height is good for children, it's fairly low profile; it would also make a great guest bed because you can make it like a daybed during the day and keep all the extra bedding in the drawers.
Drawer warning: we will need to change out the knobs, they have ripped my legs open because they are super sharp. Need something rounded. Also, for safety don't overstuff the drawers (like we did) even though they can take it, because they will not close and walking around them is crazy due to the knob issue as well as the sharp corners (or stock up on bandaids.) I just can't see them against dark carpet, and every time I make the bed I get gashes.
Overall: bed is a great little bed and is DEFINITELY worth it for the free shipping!!
Well, the product is excellent (i bought a similar one year back). This one how ever had broken boards.
NEVER-THE-LESS, spoke with customer service and they arranged for it to be shipped back, and i got another one in replacement.
5 stars to customer service, always the best...
We are really happy with this bed. Putting it together was annoying, but it was less than half the of what we otherwise would have paid for one that wasn't as nice and we still would have had to construct the other one too. The drawers make it very convenient.
