Seems great product ! so far only a couple of complaints:
1. Those half Moon cams are garbage. About half of mine were damaged and I had to recut the threads with the bolt requiring far more effort than if should have been.
2. One of my side rails was crazy warped. Made putting it together interesting to say the least.
3. Needs a better system to hold the top bunk onto the bottom bunk. That cheap dowell and 8 small screws could be great product !ly improved upon.
Overall not bad at all for the price.
The only downside about this bunk bed is that the bottom bunk doesnt have much space. great product ! for a little one but you cant sit up in the bottom bunk or youll hit your head. I never had that issue with mine as a kid. Other than that its great product !.
Very impressed with the assembly on this product - though its not quick to assemble - its done very well and at a high quality. Ive assembled lots of furniture in my time， and this was probably the best quality as far as putting a more complicated piece of furniture together. The drawers fit and work very well， the safety features are good and the height and spacing between the bunks is just right. The screws are very long and strong - a good sign of the sturdiness as well. The packaging came in 4 pieces. The labeling on the pieces was a little confusing - but eventually I figured out what was what. The stairs is definitely more inviting to the kids than a ladder - and because it can carry quite a bit of toys and things， it doesnt hog the space. Excellent bunk bed.
Just built 2 of these. It is helpful to have a power drill with bits. I would guess it will cut time by 30 to 45 minutes. It took about 2 hours to build the first and 1:45 to build the second. I used 6 inch mattresses and put thin OSB at $14 a piece from the local lumber yard for each as a better base.
The slats and metal are fine but based on the mattresses and my 5 boys， I have had good lucknwoth thin wood. Boxes work well to spread the weight as well. The slats were a bit far apart for my taste so the small investment in wood solved that and only added .5 inches. Be careful about getting mattresses that are 6，7 or maybe 8 inches so you have plenty of height so kids dont roll off the bunks and have the protection they need. This is true of any bunk. A high matress reduces the preotection.
We paid $740 for each. Seems solid， boards make the mattresses we bought feel even better. Overall， so far we are happy amd these are very nice product !looking and sturdy.
