It is easy to set up and didnt take too long, our marriage has been tested more by furniture. The bottom is nice but so short. I will hit my head trying to get out and I am 52. The top is nice and easy to get into. The best part of this is that I can easily change the sheets without hurting myself. The only bad thing is the slats on the bottom of the bed frames. If I put my knee down it will push the mattress through. Of course we went with the cheap foam mattresses that are only 4 thick but I wish these came with a better board for the bottom of the beds, thankfully the kids dont care. The slide is so so fast! We thought of putting something on the slide to slow it down but the kids have figured out how to slow themselves down thankfully because every time I watched them come down I about had a heart attack.
Overall cute bed, good for beginning room sharers. Great height and easy assembly.
First of all. This bunk actually shipped to Hawaii for $30 and that is already amazing. We have very limited choices here so we were happy to see this would ship. The UPS guy struggled a bit with the big box to get it to the garage. It is very long and heavy. Lucky for us 70 yo Grampa is in top shape and slung it on his shoulders and carried it to the back of the house. My 17 yo and I opened the box down stairs and carried pieces up and laid them out in the master according to page numbers. I am 7 months pregnant and assisted my 17 yo and we put it together pretty quick. She did most of it. Laying it out in order really helped. Definitely need two people especially the foot and headboard slats they are a bit annoying. For the mattress we used a 11 mattress for the bottom. We wanted more comfort in case it needed to be a guest bed but that mattress was much to high for the top as it came up to the rails. So for the top we got a mattress in a box from that was only 6 and it worked great. Maybe we will use another for the bottom to make more space. There is a metal bar under the top bunk that knocked a few heads so we got a pool noodle and sliced it down one side and it popped on perfectly.
We got the pink curtains and I didnt like the idea of the plastic windows for safety and because it might be too hot so we carefully trimmed out the plastic windows. I tossed it in the dryer on refresh and it came out smelling good and less wrinkled. We put up the Velcro and used a staple gun to secure it to the bed then added the curtain and it is on there pretty solid even when daddy climbed in.
My 5yo was so excited to hear she was getting a baby sister and she could finally have a bunk bed and she loves it. She would like to say it is easy to climb up the ladder and the Secret Club underneath is good for secret meetings.
Overall this bed is very sturdy and was easy to build. We used a power drill set to low and that helped it go really fast. This bed shipped quickly and arrived in a few days. My advice is get the right drill bits and use a power drill set to low. Use a separate room to lay out the pieces and have a helper. We got the Clay color to match the rest of the furniture and it is very cute. This is not a wonky bed. We are quite happy with it.
We love these and my 2 and 4 yesr olds enjoy it. The bed is very sturdy and the finish is very nice. It took a few hours to put together. Its not difficult just broken down into a lot of pieces.
We bought this for our son (6) and daughter (3) who share a small room and needed their own space for sleeping. The bunk beds came in a timely manner and my husband was able to set them up in a reasonable amount of time. Weve had the beds for almost 6 months and have had no problems and the kids are very happy with it. The only thing we changed to give a little more headroom to the bottom bunk is we took off the bottom slats so the bed sits on the ground. We also bought 6 inch tempurpedic mattresses for both the top and bottom bunk to give more space. Those few extra inches make all the difference for mommy/daddy to sit comfortably on the bed and read a story at night.
This is the perfect size for rooms that dont have tall ceilings! I love that the weight limit is 400lbs for both beds. While I understand that the slats are spaced wider than most people would like, it holds very well! We are very pleased!
We are not sleep training parents. We snuggle to sleep and ninja out. Inevitably, our kid would end up in our bed at 2 am and I was too tired to do anything about it. Sleep was more precious that consistency.
Enter this amazing bunk bed, a gift for our newly minted 3 year old. I looked for one that could withstand kid activity for years to come. I hate buying junk! This is wood, not solid but composite, still way better than cheap MDF or others. Instructions were labeled well parts were numbered. I put this together alone in a few hours with helpful distractions from my toddler.
He loves this bed more than anything hes ever loved. Its a pirate ship, a castle, a fort, a jungle gym, a relaxing reading lounge. He hasnt stopped playing in it and the BEST part is hes excited to sleep in it! We told him adults are too big for his cool bed and he just went with it. Its low enough that we can stand comfortably for stories and good night hugs. Kiddo hasnt tried to get in our bed once in two weeks and now sleeps through the ENTIRE night. Best purchase ever.
The only con Ive found is the slide angle is too steep so he is scared of it. If I purchased again Id skip the slide version. Though, it is fun for stuffed animals to go down.
it isnt exactly hard to assembly but it does take like 3 people to get it done efficiently. But great material, very sturdy and i love that the bottom bunk is in the floor since my 3 year old is a restless sleeper and ends up on the floor every night!
It looks great once put together. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. However, the slats are cheap and break easily. Its on night number 2 the kids managed to snap one of the slats on the bottom bunk.
