I was concerned after reading the reviews about how much trouble people had putting this unit together, but ours went together with only 1 slight hitch. The holes for the handle on one door were just slightly too far apart, but that was easily remedied by angling the screw a bit with the screwdriver so it would go into the hole on the handle.
The assembly was simple but not easy. We carefully followed all the instructions and read each step through before attempting it. I read the instructions to my husband, and he did all the work . He also read them over, primarily to reference the images for clarification (at least that's what he told me - I'm sure it wasn't because he didn't trust me to read them in an understandable manner). It did take us the 3 hours that other reviewers mention. It's true that hubby has put together lots and lots of this type of furniture, but we thought the instructions were pretty good compared to others we've done.
When completed, the unit looks like the picture - the doors (after adjusting according to the instructions) line up, the drawers line up, and it looks great.
As for sturdiness - the unit doesn't wobble, and we pushed it around the floor to get it in place without any problem. I know it's particle board and I bought it anyway because it will fit our need.
For the price, this was a great purchase for us and I am confident it will perform as we need it to do.
I got this cabinet to make a faux built-in in my dining area since I desperately needed more storage. I love the way it turned out, but there are some things I had to change:
? The soft-white color actually looks grey in person and it has the appearance of being done with a colored pencil or crayon if that makes sense. Its not a solid color and that makes it look cheap in person. I painted all my cabinets the same color to rectify this. Also, it is important to note that whatever they used to paint the cabinet or what it is made from, is very hard to paint. The paint just beads up on the surface until you let it get tacky and then you can spread it more evenly. You can see in the photos how gray it looks compared to an actual white cabinet.
?I added a shelf on the inside because I didnt need the wardrobe function
?I also changed out the hardware because I think what it comes with is cheap looking.
Overall, I am happy with my purchase, but I do think its priced quite high given the poor quality of the color finish on the cabinet.
Its exactly what it looks like- also the cabinet doors are adjustable, you just have to be competent enough to do so. Its very fragile though. I got this piece for my babys nursery but I have a feeling around 3-4years old it may need to be replaced. I mean VERY fragile. Aside from that I got what I needed for now..
The other thing is this type of wood stinks to high heaven so if youre wanting to get rid of the smell I recommend wiping all of the pieces down with white vinegar and water and let it air out a few days first.
It looks cheaper in person then it does online. The instructions to assemble it are pretty good. It's pretty stable in its spot but I'm renting short term and will be moving in about a year, I'm not looking forward to seeing how this cabinet does in transit - the wood is super thin and I can see it cracking and breaking while moving to my next place.
The instructions were so well written. I have put together a lot of things. It was easy to put together. It is big and heavy. I put the whole thing together myself until I needed some to hold the runners on the drawers and then to hold the doors while I installed them. It is the biggest and the easiest thing I have ever put together!
I honestly dont understand all the negative reviews for this product. Seems people either dont know how to follow very clear instructions to assemble properly or are expecting a level of quality far beyond the price point. Sorry, this isnt a $1000 piece from Pottery Barn. Perhaps Ill be eating my words when this falls apart in a few months, but the product seems pretty sturdy and was honestly easier than expected to put together. Based on all the options available in this category, I think this is a solid choice with above average aesthetics and I have no regrets with my purchase.
It was used for many items but again it had way too many pieces some of the pieces perhaps should have already been in place to save us the hassle but as far as the cabinet is concerned it is extremely sturdy and very nice
I purchased this cabinet to store crafting material. If you are new to furniture assembly, get someone to help assemble the cabinet. The installation of the doors will benefit from having someone hold the door, while the other makes the hardware adjustment. Even though the cabinet is made with pressboard, it is sturdy. However, if you have little experience with power tools, use a screwdriver for the 2 screws, etc. (the back of the cabinet requires the use of a hammer and nails, although there are no 'guides' on the backing material). Because of the pressboard, you want to be careful not to over tighten screws, etc. The shelving is substantial and also adjustable. My daughter and I assembled the cabinet in a couple of hours.

Really Nice for the Price!!!
A lot to piece together but well worth it! Solid construction! A lot of space!
Exactly as expected.

Great but be gentle

Not too bad - if you plan on keeping it in one spot.

Amazing! Going to buy another one.
