Purchased this a year ago to use as a couch/spare bed for visitors. For a couch, I cover it with a quilt and a bunch of decorative throw pillows. It creaks a bit, but no more than I would expect from any metal bed. Very sturdy for daily use by a 250 pound man. Still felt very sturdy and safe when two adults sat on it to watch a movie. Very happy with the purchase. Note: The heads of the screws are not the same color of bronze as the rest of the metal. This is shown in one of the pictures. It doesnt bother me, and the day bed is placed in a way no one can see the screws, but this might bother some people. I got a pretty plush mattress for this. I would suggest either getting a slightly firmer mattress or putting a few more bars, or maybe a piece of plywood, under the mattress. The bars are far enough apart that the very soft mattress sinks a bit.
Its very lightweight and feels a little cheap, but for the price its been surprisingly good. Went together easily, supports more weight than I imagined it would, turned out fantastic!
