Product is easy enough to assemble. I needed a hammer for two rods but it was otherwise very easy. It took my about 30-45 minutes. I do not recommend using a box spring with this bed frame because it sits directly on top with nothing to stop it sliding around when you get in bed. I have had no problems just using my mattress on the frame though.
I originally thought I was going to return this item (bought prematurely and then thought I wasnt going need it). Jasmine and the team were so friendly, had no problem returning it, and arranged to have the bed picked up for return. After all that I then changed my mind and decided to keep it (it is awesome) and they couldnt have been more gracious. Would absolutely buy from them again. A++++
We are very happy with this bed. The instructions were a little confusing at times while assembling, so we had to redo a couple of steps. One of the pieces came cracked, but my husband was able to fix with some gorilla glue and a clamp.
Everything is real wood except the bottom piece on the drawers.
Every single piece of wood (besides the slats which are obvious to identify) had a number sticker that matched instructions. All holes were pre-drilled on the top piece, although some (like the slats) didnt have a hole on the lower piece. Pieces are also secured with wooden pegs and everything feels pretty sturdy once assembled. Assembly was straight-forward and possible to do alone, with the only difficult part being balancing the bed rails to attach the head and foot boards.
I split a piece in assembly. I emailed the company directly (not thru ) Sat evening, but repaired it since I wasnt expecting a resolution soon. They replied on Sunday and recommended a replacement piece even though I said I thought the repair would hold. They shipped me the new piece on Mon or Tues.
The slats ought to be a cm longer or the rails they rest on be a bit wider. I didnt like screwing them in so close to the edge.
We bought this despite being not quite the right color, due to the price, real wood, and good reviews. I think it was a great value, even considering I added a couple of light coats of paint.
This bed is not worth the money. Ive had it for a few years and its just a giant headache to deal with. The mattress supports are very weak wood slats that will break but you cant replace them with other, sturdier options because theyre designed to go in these plastic clips attached to the bed frame. And guess what.... they break too.
If you have a mattress that requires flat support instead of the slats? Oh sorry, youre screwed as well. The bed frame also bends and flexes because there is zero diagonal support. This terrible bed makes even cheap beds seem like amazing quality.
The positives are: it looks good and the drawers are handy. Overall this bed is nowhere worth the pain and time it will require.
Not happy with Novagratz as they were very unhelpful. I received two headboards and they blamed . was able to make a full refund. However, to get to that point was a challenge
