I had to wait almost a month extra to receive this bed but its ok, it was for a good reason. The delivery service (Manna-Awesome delivery company, by the way) called and informed me that the bed had been damaged in transit and so a re-order had to be performed. So nice of them to be honest instead of delivering damaged stuff. Delivery folks were clean, professional and polite.
I was able to put this bed together by myself in about 40 minutes, and I do stuff like this somewhat slow and methodical (IE: I read the instructions). I did not find any aspect of assembly to be difficult but I understand what they mean in some of the other reviews. I recommend tightening the side rail screws at the end (as recommended in the instructions) because when you install the slats, it kind of squares everything up nicely.
So far I do not see any reason to screw in all of the slats. They are all connected by a cloth anyway. The slats (all five of them) in my previous bed were not screwed down and they never moved out of place.
The only negative for me was in the slats. There were two metal stapels sticking out of them and I got poked by both of them! In addition, the slats are not completely sanded and you can get a somewhat gnarley splinter from them. Oh, and some folks may need a bit of help in carrying the slats as they are all connected together by a cloth strip and may be heavy and ungainly handling for some
I am very satisfied with this bed. It looks really nice, and is sturdy, the wood is a nice hardwood. They did a great job on the wood stain as well.
this bed is unbelievable soooo heavy but that is a good thing. took about an hour to put up since it didnt come with instrucions but we found them on another website thanks to other reviewers. I am beyond happy about this purchase because this bed is a steal for your money!

I loved the way this platform bed looked when I got it. Unfortunately, I have only had it a few months and it has numerous chips on the edges. I am pretty gentle on my furniture, so Im not even sure where the chips and marks came from.

Espresso has more hint of reddish mahogany than I expected but it still works well with my black lacquer furniture.
I ordered this bed for my three old daughter. I was a bit nervous with the 50/50 reviews but I decided to give it a try. It was delivered and all the pieces were accounted for and in good shape. I initially attempted to use a power drill thinking it would reduce the time it would take to put it together, but it was a bit too powerful. I would recommend that you only use hand tools. I found the bed fairly easy to assemble and I put this together practically almost all by myself (Im a girl). I dont find that the drawer hardware is sharp as I read in other reviews. My only complaint would be that the drawers do not easily open and close. They are very stiff and I dont think it will get easier with more use; its just the fact that they used plastic parts for the drawers to slide in/out. All in all I am very happy with this purchase. I used an 8 memory foam mattress and this works great. I also got the headboard/bookshelf to attach which is great.

Couldve been a little easier to put together—not the most precise manufacturing—but also not something you notice or ever think about again. The quality of the material seemed great—real wood. No sagging, so creaking. No problems! I picked it because of the tapered legs and amazing price for a king bed. I have a hard time telling whether its a dark brown or black so I think it works in bedrooms with both color schemesEspresso, therefore, is a very accurate color description.
Relatively easy to put together. Looks great, seems well constructed and sturdy, love the drawers for storage. Great colour and finish. Great height and size for a toddler/childs room. Can grow with them and adapt to room decor changes over time. Only complaint is plastic runners for the drawers. They are a thick plastic and they may stand up just fine, I would just personally prefer metal for durability. Timely delivery.
This was purchased for my daughters room and she loves it. It went together without much difficulty and so far it is holding up well for furniture that you assemble yourself. The price was also reasonable
This bed arrived faster than we expected and it was easy to assemble. It is very sturdy and looks more expensive than it is. We look forward to completing our bedroom set with the rest of the products.
