The bed took a while to assmble, something around 4 hours. After assembly the frame didnt align perfectly, but it is not visible with the mattress and bedding on it.
Id brought 2 for my children. Although it took me 2 days to put them together, when Id finally finished, I was satisfy for now. Hopefully they can stand up for more than 6 months. Its been almost 2 months. Lets see stay tune.
Reading the instructions, however, was the most frustrating. There were no words, just pictures, lol. Thats really what took so long putting it together. Trying to figure out what screw 23 was and where it went into, lol.
UPDATE!!! Well, it didnt quite make it to 6 months. The front panel of the bed cracked in half. And in doing so, the pegs also broke off. Mind you my son only weighs 120 pounds. It all started when he d tried fixing one of the drawers because it wasnt in straight. It wasnt until a few days later that we notice the crack. Id out gorilla glue on it, but I didnt help. The next thing we know it was broken.
So to the manufacture is there any way I can get a brand new panel to put on the bed; along with the pegs that had came with it?
UPDATE!!!! I need to talk to someone on getting a replacement part for my sons bed. If anyone knows to contact the seller, please let me know. Thanks.
Looks great, assembled easy, solid construction. I feared the side wooden ring would cause some bumps, but so far no issues. We were looking for a low platform bed and this fits the bill. Like many of other beds it uses a center wooden rail to stabilize. I really hate those since they can go out of place and cause back pains, but pretty much all the beds are constructed this way unless you get the one with storage underneath, but those would typically be a lot higher. So I plan to insert a metal bed base if the center sags after some time.
It came in 3 boxes marked for curbside delivery. I paid the people 20 bucks to bring the boxes into the house. Fairly easy to assemble. Its nice to have a second person available. Its functional and well made for the price.
This bed was so good for our daughter that two years later, we bought one for our son. Overall, great quality for the price. I will say, that you will want to replace the drawer handles since they are very sharp. When the kids slide off the bed, they will eventually scrape themselves on the handles. What we did for our daughter, was put foam around the handles. When we bought our second one, i just went out to ace hardware and bought some new handles. Couldnt find any that would fit in the existing holes so drilled some new ones and bought some wood filler form a squeeze bottle. There is a matching paint stain marker that comes with the bed, so i stained the wood filler and no one notices. Bed does take awhile to put together, but anyone can do it. Just give yourself 3 hours of time. We love both the beds and the first one after 2.5 years is holding up great and we get plenty of compliments on the look of the bed. The espresso color allows you to buy some very colorful bed spreads that just pop. The drawers have tons of space and move freely in and out.
We just set up this bed last night. Heres the deal with the reviews that say the center supports dont reach the ground. Those reviewers have apparently put the bed rails on incorrectly. We made this mistake at first, because nothing in the instructions indicates which rail goes on the right and which on the left. They are not symmetrical, in that the ledge where the slats rest is not in the center of the rail, but closer to one edge than the other. If you put the rails on the wrong sides, there will be a gap of a few inches between the center supports and the floor, even after the leveling bolts are screwed all the way out. If this happens, you need to switch the rails. Then it all fits perfectly. Also, if you put the rails on the wrong way, youll notice that theres not much ledge holding your mattress in. Another clue youve done it wrong. Bottom line, gorgeous, sturdy, bed, poor assembly directions, but still not hard to set up with two people. Definitely recommend two people.
