I bought this tent solely off the great reviews and it did not disappoint. Camped with my girlfriend for 2 nights and 3 days in an off and on rain that was very heavy at times. The main room of the tent where the bed was stayed 100% dry. I had a friend of mine who bought the same tent and she said she sprayed it with a water-resistant spray before using it but I tried it without- very, very pleased. THE ONLY THING I RECOMMEND: Luckily I had an easy-up canopy (one of the ones that you pull all 4 legs out and it pops up on its own) and I set it over the screened in porch after the first night. That kept any extra water from coming through the screen and onto the floor. It just made it nice to not have to worry about wearing shoes at all inside the tent. Very easy set up and even easier take down. Took my girlfriend and I all of 20 minutes to set it up and we were taking our time.
The front porch area is horridly designed. If it rains, water WILL get into this area as the rain fly doesnt extend over it. While the main tent will remain dry, your porch will be soaked. My best advice is to set this tent up so that the front entry slopes downward so you can easily sweep water out. I love every other aspect of this tent, but unfortunately this is a really bad design flaw. If intended it to be this way - I have no idea why. As with any tent, buy an aftermarket seam sealer and apply liberally for extra water protection. The meshing isnt very durable - Ive already got a rip on my front porch area and its been used TWICE!!!
The tent is easy to put up I enjoyed the front screened porch for this kids to take their shoes off. However the tents bottom tarp is very fragile. I wouldnt suggest buying this at full price. Thankfully it was an s deal day.
Its a great tent! I would say its perfect for a family of four - definitely not 8 unless it is just 8 bodies in sleeping bags. We camped for two days and it poured most of the time. The screened in porch area collected some water on the floor, but it was a nice little buffer between outside and our sleeping area. It also kept bugs/spiders/skeeters out of the sleeping area (big win for me)! By the end of the two days we did begin to see some water in the corners of the tent, but it really rained hard. I am not sure there are many tents out there that would have held up the way this one did, given the weather we had.
We bought this from for a camping trip. When we went to set it up the day after receiving it one of the poles cracked. I contacted to see if we could get a new pole but all they could do is replace the whole tent. I ended up contacting and they replaced the tent poles free of charge. Tent was good otherwise. Fits four people and 2 dogs comfortably.
Good tent overall, but extra screen area is unnecessary and really has no benefit - besides maybe providing another zipped area to protect from bugs in main tent. The screen you have to hunch over to almost crawl into main cabin, the zipper location is at bottom so have to bend over and pull up zipper (hard to get hold of zipper so have to hold down tent to get the right leverage - meanwhile more cramping and bending over). Would have been better if they put screen zipper at top of tent and zip down. Less bending over and since attached at top better leverage to zip as soon as your grasp it. Water will get into screen area - there is no cover - but the main tent is protected from screen area even if it gets wet. There is not a tablet net. There is a eyelet at center at top of tent to hang lantern or such - there are 2 inside side pockets. Better if you go for the regular main tent and get more height! My sister bought the one with more height in main tent without screen - and what a difference it makes. THe higher the ceiling the bigger it feels and more comfortable because you can stand and dress / move about easier. This tent I can stand in middle but I am short I am 53.

BUY THIS TENT BEFORE THE PRICE GOES UP, LOL.

Front porch area WILL get soaked. Tent mesh isnt very durable (already I need to repair it).

Cracked pole

Screen is just more work, more pole, more to carry - no good function.
