We just used our tent for the 1st time this weekend. We were in thunderstorms and lightning the entire night!!!
Of course the porch got wet and we had a small puddle in the front of the tent. But Im telling you the rain was fierce!
Roomy, fits a full air mattress and 2 dog beds. Definitely water proof, has rained both times we used it this summer and everything stayed dry. (With the rain fly on of course.) easy to put up. Better with two people if you are on the shorter side but can be done with one person for sure. Didnt come with a mallet like our last (which we had and used for over 10 years, we out grew it due to our fury family).
After spending $400 on a Marmot that easily ripped and mildewed - this has been much beloved. Designed with large deep windows, air circulates on hot nights, yet keeps rain out even when torrential. Air circulation is key on this tent. Rain does come into the slanted screened porch. This I dont love. Yet it does allow some covered storage outside the tent, which I do. The price on this tent is amazing...which allows forgiveness on the screen design error. As a family, who loves camping - I highly recommend this tent.
Really love having a large tent for the whole family. Family = me, my wife, and my dog. Its easy to put up but with two people. We went camping with it two weeks ago and it rained pretty hard on us and the tent kept us nice and dry. Perfect for car camping. Get out there with this roomy tent from !
Best tent ever! Set the whole thing up myself in just a few minutes (Im not an avid camper...or an avid do it yourselfer lol). LOTS of room. The porch is great. Love being able to look up at the stars. Great purchase... no regerts!
Just took this tent camping for the first time. Absolutely loved it. There is only 3 of us but I wanted something that wasnt going to squish us and something we could grow into. Didnt experience any rain but that porch/screen area is a deal breaker. LOVED IT. My tent stayed clean on the inside. In fact everyone we went camping would use our tent to change in because it was just so nice.
Ive camped with this tent a few times in the Florida summer and Winter. While the winter is fine, the summer, with the rain and the mosquitos are a bit challenging
The only issue Ive found with this tent is the patio design. It is too small to be a hang out area. You wont be sitting in it a all because its not high enough
The second issue with the patio comes when its raining. With a light drizzle, water doesnt get in, but it will with anything heavier than that, and puddles will begin to form on the inside (of the patio area)
We got caught by the storm and with bathroom in and out trips, we couldnt even leave the shoes in the patio area because theyd get wet
The only time I got any good use from the patio area was one night we had 6 people in and with mattresses, the 8 person really only fits 5 on the inside, so I volunteered to sleep in the patio. Thankfully, it was a dry night and actually probably one of my best camping experiences
The good: For an 8 person tent, it is very light weight and takes up very little space when packed. With the stormy day(s), we only got water on the inside with a tiny drip coming from the rain tarp where the pole pocket was (Im guessing where it was sewn in). I just zipped the window closed and that was the end of it
This tent is designed to withstand some pretty bad weather (rain and winds up to about 40 mph). In those it has held fine
I just wish theyd rethink that patio design, but if you want a functional patio, spring for a cabin-style tent instead
Decent size for family of 5 ..will be a bit cramped with us all sleeping in it but we can fit ok..not sure how waterproof it will be hasnt been in rain yet ...but will be taking on some trips soon...luv the front porch

Great Tent for the price

Worked well and no leaks during the storm
This was easy to set up and had plenty of room for family of 3 and 2 huskies. We had a rainstorm and there were no leaks. Worked great
Great deal for quality tent

Love this tent - better than the Marmot
