I bought this to sit atop the matching shelf/riser unit, and it fits wonderfully on the two dowels (1 each side), so it does exactly what I needed it to do. The assembly is fairly tricky, I consider myself good at this, and it was a mild challenge; I can see that if one is not mechanically inclined towards assembly, one may need assistance. The back panel is a laminated cardstock piece that is nailed on, so I have zero hopes in durability. Oddly, the instructions say to face the laminated side inwards (back of the drawers) which is silly, as once the drawers are in, youll never see it, but youll have a crappy cardstock back if you ever look behind the thing. The drawer bottoms are very thin and already have a bow in them; I cannot imagine putting anything of weight in this for very long. Still, for thirty-five bucks, itll do, donkey, itll do.
I could not for the life of me find a dresser that was tall enough, not too deep and not too wide. After measuring one of these units I realized that three stacked together would do the trick. Two were at a local store and the third one I bought here. They match perfectly. However, word to the wise, when you start and youre separating the two halves of each of the drawer sliders to screw them in - Step 1 basically, wear gloves. I sliced my thumb open on one hand, index finger on the other. Other than that, it was fairly streightforward to assemble, I assembled all 3 at the same time and it was done in under 2 hours. They stack beautifully and theres no gotchas.
I got this for my home office area, which is small. I was worried that it would be dented or damaged when it arrived, but the carton was perfect and so was the cabinet. Its lightweight and easy to move around. The drawer pulls were easy to put in , which was the only assembly required. Good choice all the way around!
There were some scratches on the top and the corner on top had a little part of the laminate chipped away. Fortunately I am more co corned about function and it does the job.
this item is flimsy and poorly made. It came brand new in the box yet its appearance would suggest it was used. The panels and pieces are all dinged and tattered looking, which suggests prior usage or poor handling.
I would think twice before suggesting this product to anyone.
I guess wood means something different to different people. When you tell me a product is wood, I expect a solid board, not millions of shavings glued together and then wrapped in some kind of plastic (?) to form a cheap and artificial piece of wood.
