I purchased the bar height stools. If your husband dont read instructions, he may have issues with assembly. Lol. Once mine looked at the instructions, assembly was easy. Took him 30 minutes of actual put together time for both chairs. The chairs completely swivel which I love and have a decent comfort level. I think they look quite masculine and remind me of a swanky bar type stool. Overall, Im super happy and they are very sturdy. Highly recommend. If you have hardMaterial floors, I also suggest purchasing some felt sliders for additional protection.
Others have complained about creaking when someone sat on it. I do no have that issue. First some background on myself. I have been a professional craftsman for over twenty five years. When I opened the box for the two stool set, I was at once happy with the packaging. All parts were well protected and in very good condition. After reading the assembly instructions, I decided to follow my own sequence. The instructions would have you attach the back to the seat, then attempt to assemble the legs on an unstable platform. I first assembled the leg assembly on my work bench. While the instructions do assume that the bolts will do all of the work, and the construction is quite good, being a professional craftsman I decided some glue on the base joints would add both strength and stability to the joints.
So with the leg assembly solidly assembled I attached the back to the seat and then the leg assembly to the seat. I assembled the stools by myself. While I am an experienced craftsman, using the following sequence any one person could assemble these stools. The glue I used is called Roo and is available at your local hardware store.
Over all I am very pleased with the quality of the material, the construction methods, and the overall outcome of the end product.
3/4/22 Update. These stools are holding up very well. Gluing the base joints has made these stable and quiet. FYI
We previously bought 8 of these and now another 2. Easy to assemble and sturdy chairs. They look great at our bar. Takes about 15 minutes to assembly one barstool.
