This is super heavy and not like that particle board stuff. It definitely took a long time to assemble but fortunately other than the time, my husband had no issues.
It looks beautiful and exactly what we wanted, except that it scratches super easy. I would rate this 5 stars if it werent for that. In every other way it is perfect, but unfortunately the ease of scratch makes me wish i hadnt paid 300 for it. Might scream while assembling.
Two of the holes were not pre/drilled. Had to drill hole and use different screws. Its also darker in color. When drilling, it seemed like the side panels are plastic and not wood. The blue paint came off and underneath it was white plastic not wood. Exactly as it looks, but not great quality.
This piece is exactly what we were looking for and its sturdy once put together, it took about two hours to put together however when we were finished we realized there was glue we could have used that wasnt listed in the instructions, other than that assembly wasnt hard. Mine did come with a piece that was loose but we made it work because sending it back and waiting for a new one would have been a hassle Best purchase yet!
Cannot get rid of the glue/formaldehyde type smell from the pieces after unpackaging them. I have aired them for two days, wiped them with vinegar/water, and put them outside in the sun for a day. The main culprit seems to be the pressed board pieces with cut/outs that serve as the back of the unit.
Came with a 36 page assembly instructions manual and my handyman (who is a semi retired general contractor) said there were so many pieces, it was like assembling a puzzle. He did like fact that hardware parts were in separate small bags, not lumped together. If youre interested in this piece you might want to wait, price has kept dropping last week or so. Size small.
Took about 3 hours to put together, but the instructions were clear, and all you needed was a screwdriver. Finished product is beautiful and was exactly what i hoped for. Well worth the purchase.
Me and my husband put this together in about a hour in a half, its wasnt hard the instructions were very clear and easy! It was packaged really well so nothing was damaged. It turned out beautiful I love it! Beautiful!!
