This rocking chair is so wonderfully made. It is absolutely fantastic! Made for tall and larger frames. The workmanship is second to none! Christmas present for husband and we both would buy again but feel we will never have to buy another chair it is that well made. We got the one with no stain per excellent review of the chair.
The unfinished rocker, what a beautiful piece of fine craftsmanship! This chair is extremely well built, well crafted and easy to assemble! So much so, I ordered a second chair for my wife while sitting in my brand new one! BUY THIS CHAIR!!
BUT, I was so impressed that I bought another one, the cedar finished one. The finished rocker was spotty in the finish. It had obviously been spray stained, but not rubbed finished. The right runner had to flat places that I had to sand out and refinish with some leftover stain. It was like trying to rock with a ratcheting system built in, but only on the right side.
I have since purchased the UNFINISHED side table (mostly because in the picture it looks like its painted orange) and I figured I would have better luck with the unfinished versus the finished.
Bottom line, Im EXTREMELY PLEASED with my purchases, but highly recommended going with the unfinished.
Sturdy, easy to put together and took the stain very nice I purchased two chairs and one of them had a flat spot on the bottom of the rocker. This led to a double speed bump whenever you rocked back and again when you rocked forward. I stained before I assembled so i didnt notice the flaw and had to self remedy with hours (4) of sanding to get it smooth rocking again. The other chair was perfect. Super small mistake in manufacturing but in the worst possible place. That said, Id still purchase again
I wish I had not had it stained and did it myself. The chair was damp with stain and got on my deck and clothes. I had to refinish and coat it with urethane.
The easiest item I have ever assembled. I am a 71 years old female.. Used my wrench and rubber mallet and it was a breeze. Sooo comfortable, sturdy and definitely a wise purchase. Best decision was to get two so I would never need to give up my seat for another to enjoy. Expect them to last a very long time.
This is a very well made chair. We have two on our covered deck. I am overweight - 64 and 415lbs. Its impossible to find chairs that last! After almost 4 years of near daily use, many drunk parties, these chairs dont even so much as creak. I gave them 4 stars only because the back angle is a bit odd - it strains my lower back without some sort of tiny throw pillow. We plan to buy two more - we have the rocking bench, two of these chairs, and one end table now and couldnt be happier (except for the back angle)!
Well made and very Comfortable, the width is almost big enough for two, get a lot of compliments on the rocker, You can make it the color you like if you get the unfinished, I made mine a blonde oak, Really nice addition to my Living Room. Thanks
Took about 30 mins to assemble unaided - back, seat, legs are pre-assembled which helps a lot. Its heavy so get a helper if youre not up to lifting heavy and awkward items.
Black stain is nice, Im sure other colors would be too. Sprayed a can of Rustoleum clear coat for a bit more weather protection.
We wanted sturdy and country charm and thats what we got - very happy with our purchase (just ordered a 2nd chair).
We also bought the companion 5ft glider - nice.
