I bought this for my 5 year old daughter after her old bed broke. She will be sharing a room when my youngest moves out of her crib. It is the perfect height for her, tall enough to be fun, but not so tall that its scary, and she has plenty of headroom to sit up and crawl around. An 8 inch mattress fit well with plenty of room to tuck in bedding and still have enough height on the top bunk railings.
The bed is very solid for this price point, and looks nice. It ships in two separate large boxes, is heavy, and takes up a good bit of room when unassembled. It took us about 4 hours to assemble, as some of the pieces were mislabeled and we mixed up pieces from the top and bottom beds. I would recommend laying them out prior to assembly and checking the labeling so you dont have to take it apart to re/assemble. Some of the screw holes werent drilled correctly and we had to re/drill them.
Overall its a great bed for the price. The problems were minor, and easily fixed.
Edited to add:
We separated the beds this July because the ladder was starting to pull out of the beds after 3 1/2 years of being played on by my two kids and their friends.
The beds were both in good condition until a couple weeks ago. My 9 yo and two of her friends were jumping on her bed and broke the frame.
We got our moneys worth. We knew they werent going to hold up like solid wood beds, but it we were looking at 800/1500 for those.
You get what you pay forapplies to the bunk bed. The frame is ok but the mattress supports are poor. Made of used plywood of unknown origin (Vietnam? China?) the slats are roughly cut, full of large splinters, staples and old paint. I spent hours refinishing every slat to make sure our kids wouldnt get hurt. When assembled the slats bowed under the weight of a mattress with one child. I added a 1/2plywood sheet to each bed for mattress support.
This bunkbed came in one box with several, several pieces of the headboard missing along with other items. does not have a customer service phone number to call and ask if they could just ship these itiems so I requested to return it along with emailing them a complaint about the missing items. I scheduled a return pick up for UPS to pick up the box, and had it on my front porch for 3 days. UPS put a missedpick up label on my door 3 times as they walked right past the box and did not pick it up. Next thing I know I have 3 more boxes waiting for me at my Apartment office. It seems they sent me the missing parts but failed to tell me so! I had to just guesson what was going on. I am returning everything and will only shop here for things I cannot find other wise . com is not easy to use and offers no customer service!!!!
There was SO many pieces to assemble it would have taken me days to get it done!!!! WAY TOO many peices!!
Santagot this for my 3yr old and 6yr old little girls! They just love it. It is very sturdy, no chips, came perfect! I couldnt be more happier with the purchase. It is shorter than the average bunk bed but works great in a smaller bedroom.
My wife and I bought this for xmas for our girls, 3 and 5. We assembled it xmas eve in their room while they
slept in another room. It took about 2/3 hours of work to build. But worth it. In the morning the girls went cry
for the new beds. They love them. The beds are sturdy, safe, and a good deal.
Pieces were labeled wrong so when my husband first put it together, it was wrong and he had to take the whole thing apart and do it again. The stickers on the pieces are hard to get off and leave sticky substance on the bed or scratch off the paint when trying to remove them.
I love this bunk bed. I bought it for my daughters who are 5 and 6 and it is absolutely perfect for them. My dad helped put it together and we had it up in about 2 hours. The instructions were very easy to follow, and with some common sense, it is a pretty strightforward design anyhow. Although I will admit I did not recieve the allen wrench that is supposed to come with it, but luckily I have a stash of tools that came in quite handy when putting this together. Once up it is sturdy and a great height for their upstairs room with low ceilings. The rails are also very sturdy and I am not at all worried about my daughter falling off when sleeping. Overall, this is a great bunk bed that I would definitely recommend to parents of younger children or if you have limited vertical space.
Although the bed is solid once you finally put it together, putting it together is a disaster. Approximately four of the long bolt/nut combos stripped. I had to go to Home Depot and find replacements. The other option which I also did was use a washer even though this meant the bolt was not flush as designed.
Additionally, none of the nuts on the small bolt/nut combo actually sunk far enough into the bed railing so you could screw the bolt in. I literally had to drill all the way through the side of eight holes to make this finally work. So basically the bed is now a hodgepodge of parts, holes, and fittings.
This is completely ridiculous and ends up wasting countless hours trying to sort it all out. Just not worth it. Someone from should put together one of their own beds. Might highlight some glaring issues with what could be a 4/5 star bed for the price.
Nice, reasonably priced bunk beds that were fairly easy to assemble. The height of the bed combo is a bit shorter, so is a safer for little ones. This was a gift for my 5 year old granddaughter, and she loves the set. It would be nice if the ladder could be removed (it is permanently attached.)

Solid, pretty bed

Poor Quality

Items missing and too hard to assemble

Instructions are confusing

Nuts and Bolts Do Not Fit

Nice Bunks
Easy to put together, very sturdy, and looks great! The kids love their new beds and could not be happier.
