What we found in this bed:
Purchased this bed for $400. It arrived much faster than anticipated in 3 large boxes, no damage to packaging. We were skeptical before purchasing as the product had no reviews, but given the products new release date and s return policy, we risked it. Disappointed to find a broken piece upon opening, but decided to press on and have contacted the seller for a replacement. All the pieces were labeled and directions were easy to follow. Lots of minor imperfections including, dents to some pieces prior to being painted, patchwork to previously damaged piece, some incorrect pre drilled holes, and a pre assembled drawer front that did not match (handle faces down rather than up like the other 5). Despite these flaws, the structural integrity of the bed is good, seems solid enough for our wild 5yr old. Drawers are not on metal sliders but open smoothly, even when filled with toys, and not too heavy for our child to open independently. Drawer unit is 100% separate from the bed frame, so it can be placed on either side or elsewhere in the room. Drawer unit is also only half the width of the frame so more storage bins can be placed on the opposite side. When mattress is pushed up to headboard there is a 3 inch gap from end of mattress to footboard.
Overall, we hope to have this bed for many years. Wish it was a little less, given all the imperfections.
I received this bed frame off my wedding registry, and it was unfortunately delivered severely damaged by the carrier. I was ready to just return the whole thing, but BisonOffices customer service reps were extremely helpful in getting me replacement parts completely free of charge, and within a week! The only drawback to this product is its difficulty in putting it together. You better have a good 2-3 hours on your hands and even an extra set of hands, lol. Once you get it together though, it is very sturdy and has lots of drawer space. Couldnt be happier at the end of everything!
OK, first things first. Make sure you have enough room in the bedroom to assemble this. You will not want to build this in a different room and move it, though it is possible to do since this basically is built in three stages-- the bed frame, the drawers, and the bookcase header. I just dont recommend doing that unless you have somebody to help you move it.
Second, this came in two heavy boxes. Lots of styrofoam for the landfills, and plenty of cardboard for recycling. It is enormously intimidating when you start pulling out the parts and a big thing of screws and gizmos for putting it together. It comes with the needed allen wrench, but you will need a Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer for the dowels and little nails for the shelf bottoms and back of the bookcase header. The screws are self drilling so a drill is not required, but I recommend one to save time.
There is a lot of prep in the instructions. Do it, or do most of it, especially with the dowels. They will help to hold things in place when you are putting them together. Once you get the bedframe together, that constitutes a lot of the pieces right there and the rest doesnt look so bad. Look at the instructions to see what pieces you need for the shelves and set them aside. You can do them last. Do your bookcase header next. You can attach the header to the bed frame, but I just squooshed it between the wall and the frame and it is plenty stable for me. If I ever have to move it, not having to separate the header from the frame will make that task easier.
The instructions themselves are typical of a project like this. Lots of arrows and numbers and for a middle aged guy like me that doesnt see too well, they require some squinting. You will probably overlook something, but it wont make the whole thing fall apart. Just take your time, and make sure the holes on the panels in the instructions line up with what youre doing. I am moderately handy, and I did the bedframe in a few hours in the afternoon, and the rest of it the next day from about 10am to 1pm. Its a half day project, but maybe it wont take you as long if you read this or have a second hand to help you with prep.
Ive seen some complaints from some reviewers that the product was damaged or that its particle board. Sometimes things get damaged in transit. Mine did not, plus I was careful when I pulled the panels out of the box not to bang them on anything and damage them. Yes, they are particle board, but so is most stuff at this price range. I cant imagine how much this would way if it had been all wood. The particle board is plenty thick and durable, and I didnt have any problem with it.
I didn’t like the way the bed was handled in shipping. The seller was very responsive to questions and concerns. The bed overall could be a very well built and sturdy bed.
It literally took me over 5 hours by myself to assemble it. So many tiny screws. I absolutely love the end product!! This bed better last a lifetime for the work it took me assemble it!!!

Great, but very fragile if over tighten
For me, installation instructions are to the point, just be careful on over tightening those bolts they’ll go through
Great product
Great product. Easy to assemble and sturdy. Although once assembled, its heavy.
Took about 2 hours for 2 people. Not to bad, missing 3 screws though
Overall nice bed, was missing parts for the drawers, guess I’ll get them at the hardware store
sturdy, but takes a while to assemble
