Better than expected I was a little skeptical when I first opened it up, but after 48 hours the mattress had fully expanded and feels great. It is shipped pressed and vacuum sealed so it is very thin. I absolutely love the mattress now. Lol I was a little afraid to cut the bag open I thought it was going to pop open when air got to it, but it is actually a slow process.
My husband is over 6 feet and almost 300 pounds and this mattress is perfect for him! It holds him up but supports him/molds to him at the same time. Unfortunately I think I am too small to sink into the mattress. In other words, instead of me sinking slightly and it contouring around my curves and back, I mostly just sit on top of the foam which defeats the whole purpose.
In short, it is firm enough that heavy people are going to get the contouring and comfort benefits of the foam mattress but if you are small like me (57 145 lbs) or smaller, this might be too firm if youre looking for back support.
