I am an junkie but I dont write reviews. But after receiving this item, quickly assembling it and looking at it, I just felt like it was the right thing to do. Just buy it. If you have any assembly skills, you will get this assembled in 30 minutes.
I should have put 5 stars because this cabinet is well constructed, quality material and looks like a very expensive piece of furniture BUT it is challenging to put together and took us, totally 4-5 hours. The doors were off alignment just a hair (probably 1/8 or less) which was evident mostly in the handles but unless your OCD is acting up not a problem. Hardly noticeable. The back was not pre-drilled for the screws that attach the back and was not much bother to drill them with the holes in the backs as guides. The finish on the cabinet was beautiful with no scratches or blemshes. Ah yes, did find the pesky little sticker on the glass behind the cross piece of wood. Just cut along the edge and removed, no problem. It is a beautiful addition to our home.
this cabinet is made of solid wood and every pieces delivered in good shape except for one of the back board. The backboards are very thin wood boards so she packed with other harder pieces, they could be easily damaged. Since the damage part is on the back, I can bear with it.
Over all it is good buy. not difficult to put together and it holds decorations and books very well.
Really well packaged, beautiful finish, manufactured well. You can ignore all the comments about assembly issues. IF you know how to follow directions and assemble furniture. Took me about an hour, but I like to glue dowels to help last and take my time, and it came out perfect. Tip: install doors with 1 screw each hinge and check level, if you drill something crooked your doors will end up off. Thats not a manufacturing defect thats a fact of life hanging doors. Also pay attention to the schematc on door install, I saw a complaint where the person had apparently installed the doors backwards and was complaining that the latch marks were on the outside. If your doors arent flush worth the cabinet face, you did it wrong. LOOK at the diagram!
I not only love the style and quality of the product, but I have to say that it was impressive the way they designed it to be assembled. It seems to be dummy proof. I will fully admit that when I assemble furniture, I am the type of person who half reads the instructions and I enjoy just going in and putting the piece together, even if I have to backtrack once or twice because I made a mistake or skipped a step. On average looking at my track record I would say that I usually go backwards at least once. But with this piece, I made no mistakes. It was fairly straightforward and intuitive.
For example, in any steps where you think you could probably put on a piece backwards, they made it so that either it doesnt fit that way or so that the piece would work on either way. Another thing that I really love about this set up process is that whenever you need to drive a screw in, they made little holes where the screw should go. There are furniture pieces that I have assembled that do not that do that and that part is always daunting to me because I am paranoid I am not put in the screws in the exact right position.
The only CON and this is the fault of , not the maker of the item, is that it was shipped to me with a huge crack in the base wood panel. I bought it from warehouse deals, and they sold it as like new. It is clear that whoever go this before tightened the connecting cam disk too hard and it split the wood. I will attach pictures.
Having have said that, my biggest piece of advice, not only for assembling this item but for assembly any type of furniture, is too be gentle and not over tighten. You never want to hear the wood crack. If you can change the torque setting on your drill, I would definitely not keep it on the drilling setting.
Had my doubts when I received the box because it was damaged. However the product was well packed and didnt have a scratch on it.
Assembling was a challenge since I had no one to help by holding the doors. I got it assembled and it looks fantastic. Real wood
good directions and all the parts were included (even extras were included. I would definitely recommend this cabinet to all. I bought it to store liquor.
