My son wanted a wolf theme in his room so we decided to do a makeover for his birthday. I purchased this bed because he already had a full sized bed. The loft idea is really great for saving space and it looks so clean. The box is heavy, and I mean heavy, so dont pick this up without help. Once we emptied all the parts, it was pretty straight forward to put together. My husband and I put it together with a few hiccups but nothing major. After assembled, both of us climbed up and sat on it. No wobbling or anything. So clearly our 8 year old would be stable. The ladder goes straight up without an angle. At first this concerned me but the ladder is really easy to climb, stable and gives the bed an elegant finish, which I love. Under the bed is big enough for cubbies and makes a cozy little area that he can hang out and play. His older brother has slept under there a couple of nights. I wanted the gray finish at first but it would have taken twice as long to arrive. Decided on white and it is lovely. Im sure my son will enjoy his new room and bed well into his teens. If you are wondering about the under $300 price point being a cheap quality, dont. This bed is awesome and well made. Im considering buying another one for our older son. To make this bed even more of an absolute dream, use a duvet cover with a goose feather comforter and it will feel just like a cloud.
Their were alot of scratches to the paint. They would work for kids up to 10 years old. Their were a few pices that were very bent. I wouldnt buy it again but to much of a hassle to ship it bad. Was very heavy. Me and my bf put it together in an hr.
Arrived on time, box packed and taped nicely. Real wood not fake fiberboard, imperfections wood grain and knots present. Looks really nice can see where some would have bad knots or imperfections but luckily we didnt. Easy to assemble may need an extra set of hands for the longer parts. Took about an hour from unboxing to complete. Espresso model strong smell of varnish or sealer.
Tried to put this together at xmas time and wow... what a disaster.
Took it all apart, which took an hour in itself as theres dozens and dozens of pieces! Broke the box down, cleaned up all the pieces and styro foam, and organized pieces by similarity and shape and size. Got cracking.... went an hour into putting together and big bracket side piece is missing. We checked and received TWO of the other piece???
Also, the box it was shipped in was obliterated when it was delivered. I do understand it could have been or UPSs fault and not that of the manufacturer but still.... this box is super long and SUPER heavy! Team lift is advised...
Bed came well packaged with all parts included. Instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. If you are a novice, you should follow the instructions and have a helper during the assembly process. I did it alone but wound up with a small nick on the footboard. My only complaint is the screws that attach the wooden tie to the middle of the bedrails are too short and pop out very easily. I had to make a run to Home Depot to pick up six 1.5 inch replacement wood screws. They did the trick. Daughter loves the bed and the extra play space in her room.
Didnt get delayed even though weather was brutal the week of it being shipped. Seems pretty good for a kids daybed, Im not sure how it would work for a long term every day bed its yet to prove it self, feels like it needs support for the bottom bed under in between like from the floor to the bed, it moves alot if I want to turn, my movement could bother the person on the top. Plus I wouldnt suggest an adult sleeping on the top tween bed. instructions were easy to follow not a piece missing nor did it have extra pieces so be careful assembling not to loose any pieces or if you decide to use power tools be very gentle as it is instructed not do so. Its not hard to assemble even if you are doing it alone. I still would of liked an extra support bar for the top tween bed, we bought Linenspa 6 Inch Innerspring Mattress, also so far so good seem pretty comfortable for the kids, full mattress seems abit small though maybe add a thicker mattress for the bottom bed I guess.
