I have a concrete floor in my office in a building that is less than two years old so its fair to say the floor is good.the wheels that come with this chair became pitted and wore down or clunky within weeks. Other than that Ive since purchased aftermarket rubber wheels and have a stellar chair for my desk that I spend on average 6 hours a day spinning around at mon/fri. Btw Im 64 and 240. Great chair bad wheels which is a minor repair in my opinion to remain comfortable in a quality chair.
I bought this chair in March 2015. After more than 5 years of abuse, it is time to replace it and I am thinking about getting the same chair again. I have been working from home full time for those 5 years and it was very comfortable for those long days (9 hrs of work plus another 4 / 6 hours gaming every day). The lift did give out after about a year, but I was ok with that. Im big but not tall so the lowest setting worked for me. The chair held up to my 300lbs very well and only broke down because of the way I sit. I tend to lean to the right. The bonded leather held up well even against my cat constantly climbing the back to sit on the headrest. I highly recommend this chair.
A beautifully finished, stately desk chair, with comfortable seats, lumbar support, height adjustment, and tilt controls. Mine was in a rich walnut color, a deep burgundy that went very well with the remainder of my home/office décor. The chair is well/made, with heavy duty hardware and supports to nicely hold up my 220 pound frame. Arms and wood accents are finished in a near/perfect high gloss lacquered stain. Arms and seats are beautifully appointed, with lovely light tan stitching. Metal fittings used for assembly are heavy iron bolts that fit together nicely, making it fairly easy to assembly. All parts used for assembly are provided, and carefully labeled. An Allen wrench is also supplied, which is all that is needed to assemble the chair. It takes about one hour to put together. If you are handy at all, assemble it yourself, although the larger parts are somewhat heavy, and could use a second pair of hands to hold in place while being fastened.
Although I gave the chair four stars for fit, finish, and appearance, like most mail/order office furniture, it has one major flaw. When completed, it looks like it will last forever. However, the fabric is what the manufacturer calls bonded leather. Also called plu leather by some manufacturers, this is a cheaply made leather substitute, made of scraps of leather held together by a resin of some kind. Also called reconstituted leather, or blended leather, it allows the manufacturer to put together beautiful leather/like finishes that never seem to stand up in the long run. Depending on the maker, these leathers always dry out and start to flake off the chair long before the upholstery or mechanism wear out. It is always just a matter of time. My last faux/leather chair started to flake off after a few years, and eventually shed throughout the house. So why didnt I get a more expensive, real/leather chair? Because it would have been three or four times more expensive, and I didnt want to spend the money. If youre reconciled to this long/term disintegration, then you could not do better than this particular chair.
So Ive had this chair now for around 20 months which is plenty of time to evaluate it. Im a big guy weighing in close to 300 lbs. and standing at 6`3, so its hard to find chairs that are comfortable for more than a few minutes. This is definitely worth the extra and I would buy it again if I ever needed another one. I sit in this chair a good 4/5 hours a day. Its so comfortable that I sometimes use it to watch TV instead of sitting on the couch. I can also meditate in this chair with my legs crossed so its wide as well. Again, great chair.
20 / 25 minute assembly for solo if youre experienced having a helper is perfect for assembling the backing to the seat by overall necessary for the quality of chair i rate 4.9/5.0 here. Extremely comfortable with a locking mechanism that allows any angle (free lock like a parking brake) very durable leather and metal design. All tools included with instructions 1 page easy to follow. Highly adjustable tilt force.
Posting initial review in the hope that customer service replies before I send it back for a refund. The left armrest wood is chipped off and the lumbar does not work. As for a review, it was fairly easy to assemble, just make sure to tighten the screws after it is fully assembled or else the connections do not line up. Took a couple days to get used to it, but it is comfortable and I like the chair. I hope I do not have to return it.
Very happy I didnt take the negative reviews seriously here. This chair is high quality and very comfortable. Why. The leather is well stitched and good quality. The seat is comfortable. The arms are very solid and at the right angle. Has all the adjustments you want in a chair. I am 6 ft tall and 240 lbs. I also have a small home office. This chair fits me great and isnt too big in my space. Took me 15 minutes to unbox and assemble. It is a Serta. Based in US. Absolutely thrilled with the purchase and glad I didnt take the negative reviews seriously.
This chair is exactly what I was looking for in comfort, support and design. The cushion and lumbar are excellent.
However, the assembly took over an hour mostly due to securing the back portion to the seat which was nearly impossible to align the screws. This should have been pre/assembled.
I wanted a sturdy chair that would last more than a year. This is the one. While I am not really big and tall, its exactly what I wanted and very comfortable.
