    Awesome purchase!

What an awesome purchase! Took me a couple of hours to put it together! Make sure you assemble with a drill or youll spend a lot longer than a few hours to assemble this with just an Allen wrench. Super sturdy and heavy duty! As a Polynesian, Ive always purchased steel frames because wooden frames never lasted, but so far, this wooden bed has been solid for my 3 boys. Again, use a drill or youll hate yourself putting this beast together! Good,

A lot of hassle and could possibly injure a small child, but you know, other than that is great

Horrible to put together. Okay, the lack of 5 stars is a big part of We ordered this item and was told it would be two weeks. No problem, its a big item, I get it. We even scheduled a pick up date. I took time out of work to make sure I was home during pick up date. waited.waitedwaited Never showed up. I called and was informed it never shipped. After a LONG back and forth with we finally had to purchase it againeven though they couldnt cancel the first one because it was stuck in a limbo of pending shipping/ where they claimed they didnt have it yet the shipping company hadnt taken possession of it. Waited ANOTHER 2 weeks because apparently asking for a little faster shipping after a huge inconvenience was going too far. Finally did arrive, but only after we reorder, tracked it every step of the way, and called each person in each process to make sure it actually was there. A MONTH AFTER RECEIVING THE SECOND ONE ORDERED the first one shows up at our doorstep! Even though it had been canceled at this point. Where it had been for the last two months, I have no idea. Clearly, their method of shipping large things has major issues. So if you are willing to fight through those issues and wait twice as long as should betotally get this. The bed itself came in two boxes. the boxes were a little banged up on the outside, which did translate to a few dents here and there in the wood, but there was no way in heck I was going to send it back. I think the problem is the packing method. Not a lot of styrofoam just wood that butts right up to the box. Assembly wise: it wasnt cry hard. In fact, I did about 60 of it by myself. The direction isnt the best to understand but once you get it for one, you just basically repeat for the others. Unfortunately, the directions are based on an alphabet system that is supposed to be on the wood. About half of our wood didnt have any stickers (not including the slats). So there was a lot of matching pieces to each other to try and figure out what letter it was supposed to be. Not impossible but just annoying and time/wasting. It is very sturdy except for one aspectthat NEARLY BROKE MY DAUGHTERS ARM!! The slats are designed to go in not laying flat so that the most wood is covering the mattress, but on their sides so that its basically like a one/inch rail in increments along the bed. I didnt think it really mattered until she tried to climb into one of the upper bunks. Because they are narrow, and the bed is just slightly longer than a standard twin mattress, as soon as she used her arm and put pressure on the mattress to climb from the latter to the bed the mattress slipped right through the thin rail taking almost all her body with it. Luckily she didnt fall all the way through. It is a huge flaw though and we have had to put a wood sheet board between the slats and the mattress to keep it from happening again. To have to buy something extra to make this product safe, pretty much drops its rating in my books pretty significantly. I am super bummed about the slat problem, because otherwise it is a pretty sturdy product with good quality wood.
