This bed is sturdy and comfortable to sleep on. It folds up conveniently for storage or transport, but is very strong when setup.
The instructions for putting it together are a little confusing, but if you stick with it, you will be very happy with the end result. The only tool you really need is a philips head screw driver.
Although it was very easy to assemble, all of the joints do not fit tight together when fully assembled. When adding the last pieces, the slats loosen (see photos). Since everything is pre/drilled, theres no way to adjust the fit. It will be interesting to see how long this will last.
its a nice looking frame, made of real solid wood, however it wasnt easy to assemble and it squeaks a lot, just from moving around during sleep, which is really annoying.
I had recently purchased an authentic Japanese futon and wasnt quite ready to sleep directly on the floor (thanks to my irrational fear of spiders). I was out looking for a product that I could easily stow away, just like my futon, as well as be able to be propped up off the floor. This was the perfect solution! The box it came in was a lot smaller than I anticipated. Using a mallet and a drill, it took me about an hour and half to put together. This hour and a half also consisted of a one year old crawling around me and checking out all the materials. I didnt give it 5 stars because there was a few pilot holes that werent quite squared up to the middle of the other piece that it needed to be screwed into and one of the screws ended up popping through the wood creating a break in one of the legs. After I patch that break, I dont see why this platform would anything less than perfect!
The bed frame itself is great. Easy to assemble and extremely sturdy. Quiet. Some weird colorations on the wood (green, grey), but a note inside the box says that this will fade into uniform brown over time.
I am giving this 4 stars because the original package I ordered never arrived. I had to contact after waiting several weeks. It took me 3/4 weeks to get the bed frame which was a bummer.
After my malm bed, I needed a change (got sick of the slats falling through!). This was not the easiest to assemble/kind of reminds me of adult lincoln logs/ but the end result feels solid stable. I love the simple design, and I love that it will be easy to transport when I move.
The folding feature is aming! The creaking with every move is annoying. The boards that act as slats bend and creak. I may try placing a piece of plywood over it to stop the creaking.
I like the look and portability of the bed but every time I sit or lay down on the bed it makes a creaking sound like its about to break. This bed might not be well suited for the heavy set.

Looks good, but has issues.

it is a nice sturdy frame and works well
Took some effort to put together and the pieces are not labeled (only in the instruction book). Still, it is a nice sturdy frame and works well.
