I love this! After reading reviews detailing both sides of assembling the bed, I wasnt sure what to expect. Though, with a tiny Skil drill and screwdrivers (along with a chill playlist and a free afternoon/evening) I, a 42 year old female with limited handyman knowledge, assembled the bed all by myself! Yes, I admit, a couple drawers arent exactly square but I can live with that. Just follow the directions!

I bought 8 L brackets and installed them on the inside 4 corners of the bed frame, so its nice and solid.
It holds a lot more clothes than I originally thought and the finish is perfect, not too matte and not too glossy.

This is the second bed Ive assembled and I cant say enough about the VERY clear instructions (which include photos as well as drawings). In addition, the quality of the milling is excellent. All the holes are drilled precisely where they should be (unlike some other furniture Ive assembled from other manufacturers).
I would highly recommend the use of a power drill (the instructions say optional // not optional for me!)
My only slight disagreement with the instructions is that I wouldnt insert all the JRN nuts into the inner gables and the stabilizers at the same time but rather as you work with each piece (or theyll just fall out before you get to them). But those are some of my favorite type of fasteners as they can be tightened well and provide sturdy connections.
You might also want to wear gloves while working with the slats as they are just rough/cut and not smooth, and one did have a small crack along one edge but not anything which should interfere with strength.
Kudos to our Canadian neighbors for producing good quality at reasonable price!!

Good directions thankfully but it took him 4 hours.He broke it up over two days because it was a lot to do in one sitting. We bought the headboard too and like it. It is vvvvverry heavy, no idea how they delivered it up all our stairs! Impossible to move so set it up right where you want it. The boxes alone are so heavy I couldnt even scoot them.
perfect. This bed is pretty nice if you just need something cheap for a few years. Its kind of a pain to put together, but weve actually moved houses, which meant disassembling and reassembling and had no issues with anything cracking or stripping. Weve had it for about a year now. We like the extra storage underneath, and have the matching nightstands and chest of drawers. We will probably move it to the guest room and get something solid wood in a couple years, but for now, its holding up nicely.

The instructions would refer to using piece B or something, but literally nothing was labeled at all. It was my only complaint but we still figured it out fairly well.
Id suggest sliding the slats up to the top of the bed, because most of your weight will be there. If you slide them toward the bottom, then sitting up on the bed may cause the slats to fall through, which can be annoying to fix (trust me).
Easy build, Bought this bed with matching bookcase headboard. My fiance was renovating our bedroom and since I was not allowed to see the room before it was complete, he had to build the bed by himself. I was very afraid reading the reviews that he would have so much trouble putting it together or that something would break.
The material, the color and the finish are very nice and I thought it looks so much better than the pictures.
I knew what the bed choice was so when it came, we opened the boxes and he brought the large pieces upstairs one at a time (There were 4 boxes total WITH the headboard. 2 of the boxes were 70 pounds and the other 2 were lighter.)
The headboard took him approximately 2 hours to put together. Based on the reviews, I thought that was pretty quick.
I put the drawers together downstairs while he built the bed frame upstairs. It didnt take him much longer than the headboard. The directions, though, leave something to be desired (we did have one pocket part at the completion).
The bed frame is great. It seems very sturdy. There is definitely no movement of the bed frame while we are in it. The height is perfect and we purchased a 14 gel/memory foam mattress without a box spring and it fits perfectly on the frame. The drawers are such an added bonus. I thought, eh, get the one with drawers and if we use them, we use them. Believe me! We use them. Fantastic size and they open and close smoothly.
The headboard (which I will include in the review since its a set) is much nicer than in the picture. I love the finish. I expected to get broken or damaged pieces. All the pieces were in excellent shape. The headboard has plenty of room for all of our STUFF / phones, tablets, water, meds, books, just in case cookies, etc!
I gave it 4 stars because there is one problem: There isnt a realistic way to attach the bed frame to the headboard. I read that in other reviews and wasnt sure how it would work. At this point, we are going to secure the headboard to the wall and push the bed frame and mattress up close. I probably wouldnt leave the headboard not attached to anything / if it is leaned on while sitting in bed, it will push back/tilt. Just a small safety factor.
The bottom line is I would recommend this set!!
