These have a very sleek, modern look. More comfortable than I expected considering theres no cushion. The motion when lowering the seat is very smooth, the motion when raising it back up is very jerky.
These are gorgeous but I should have read the description better. I thought they had a cushion seat but these are a hard plastic I mean they are bar stools after all. Was not what I was expecting but I do really like the modern look of these. Was a time a change from the stools we had for 5 years, good change.
These MODERN LOOKING stools are strong and support my 270 pounds with ease. I sat atop them and used the release lever to test them - they responded perfectly! I then tried wobbling on them and they resisted quite effectively, staying upright and keeping me safe.
The stretchy vinyl covering on the seat area offers the opportunity to easily custom-cover them as well: You could buy some stretchy vinyl and replace the present covering with a matched color to whatever you choose. I may choose to do so in a few months after giving myself a chance to evaluate these. I absolutely love the fact that I can easily do so (the top plate you sit on looks like it can be removed via a few screws on the underside and then re-covered). Perhaps they could even even be upholstered in another way too (if so desired). Presently, I do not anticipate the need as they look good, but I may since my kitchen is a little more contemporary. Finding stools that are the proper height for everyone is a great accomplishment, and these fit the bill!
The only characteristic that I would prefer that they did not have was the flat black finish on the stand which shows dirt more readily. These will force me to clean a little more often (not a problem). I may paint them a different color in the future. I really do love that these could be customized with great ease if so desired (but still look great without the customization).
Overall, these are SURPRISINGLY STRONG AND WELL-CONSTRUCTED.
I reviewed another variation of these chairs, and I got this one to create an alternating look in our kitchen, so my review mirrors my sentiments as I like this color just as much as I like the wood texture ones I got as well.
Overall I really like these chairs, I was amazed at how easy they are where to assemble, and the size adjustability makes them great for counter-height stools for kids and adults.
Overall they look good, are sturdy( my 2-year toddler is able to climb onto it without it falling over), and they have a classy look to them. They also have a nice contour in the seating area which adds to their comfort.
Installation note, if you forget to remove the plastic cap on the hydraulic shaft BEFORE inserting the chair on top, it will prevent the hydraulic function from working. I spent more time than needed trying to fix this, learn from my mistake, and the easy fix:
1. remove the 4 screws that attach the chair to the upper half.
2. Insert a screwdriver from the top to pop the plastic protector out..fixed! (The first time I didnt realize you can access the jammed cap from the top, and spent way too much time fixing the problem I caused myself.)
Note this is outlined in the instructions via visual instructions, it was totally my mistake but thought I would share in case you make the same mistake

These stools were very easy to assemble. They are a great addition to my kitchen. I adjusted to height for the stools to sit at the island and its a perfect fit.
The seat on this barstool is high density foam. Not my favorite to sit on. And not practical in a kitchen situation. Forks, knives, pencils- all sorts of things people use while sitting down on barstools, can easily gouge the seat. The base is metal. Its super easy to assemble. The directions are fantastic. All hardware is included.
These barstools came packaged securely with care.
Assembly was self explanatory and they came with parts and tools to do so.
I usually have my husband put things together but I couldnt wait to see these so I did it myself, I didnt really need the instructions, I assembled them both in about 5 minutes time. The work perfectly.
They are quality made, sturdy and very nice looking.
The top of the seats is not real wood it is a wooden texture as described by the company but seems to be durable.
The seats swivel and adjust in height from 56 to 80cm.
I am pleased with these barstools and would recommend.

Stools are super comfortable for what they are, material on the wood grain model reminds me of a cork.
