Okay so this is a great buy I love that is low to the floor! my children are notorious for shoving everything under their beds when its time to clean up.
As for assembly: it is pretty easy the directions are easy to follow my only complaint on assembly is the screws at the very bottom are a royal pain to secure. You have to use partial turns repeatedly in order to fasten well. There are a few plastic securing pieces that snapped but there are some extras included.
Overall Im happy with this purchase. Best purchase yet!
I bought the white bunk bed and my girls love it. The assembly was unbelievably simple. I was very surprised. There were small details in the assembly like plastic pieces that click in where the bars are Inserted that gave me extra peace of mind about the sturdiness and safety of the bed. The room is on the small side so that is why I opted for this particular model. It was a smart purchase. I bought a 10 mattress for the bottom and an 8 mattress for the top and they fit perfect! Bless your hearts.
bought two of these for our lake cabin built in 1963. Ceilings are low (just over 7) and rooms are 10x10. We typically have 20+ people over the 4th of July and only had 3 full beds in addition to the master before. With these bunk beds we doubled our sleeping capacity to 6 full beds. BTW I installed brackets to the wall for stability. I used 1.5 pipe straps and bent to fit then anchored to the wall. My wife and i slept on top bunk and it was very stable. Our combined weight is between 340lbs / 350lbs and these worked great. i dont recommend excessive jumping around/movement at this weight but for just sleeping they were fine. Get some pipe insulation and zip tie to the steps as they are hard on the feet with out it.
Even at the low ceiling height we could sit up on the top bunk as well as the bottom. The bottom bed sits just an inch off the floor.
We used the 6 Inch Gel Infused Memory Foam Mattress / Firm Feel mattress and they were very comfortable. As described and easy to set up.
When assembling the bed we noticed that all of the poles were bent. I am unsue if this happen with shipping or they came bent. This bed was purchsed for a seven year old girl so it should last her for a couple of years but nothing more. If you are looking for a temporary bed for a younger child between the ages of 2 (bottom bunk) until 10 years of age and you are on a budget this maybe the bed for you. Overpriced.
