This cage was almost too easy to assemble! I also wasnt expecting it to be as giant as it was! I knew the measurements it just didnt click until I saw it in person! Its super spacious and large! I didnt add the platforms or ramps because I wanted a more active layout for my girls (rats)
I also removed the grate at the bottom to provide extra bedding depth and prevent possible injury and does this cage deliver! The the pan at the bottom is what sold me this cage (in addition to its aesthetics) rats love room to burrow and play and this pan has wonderful depth and room
The floor space is actually roughly equivalent to a 40 gallon breeder tank which is lovely!
I bought this cage knowing the bar spacing (0.95) would be too big for most rats, which is why I meshed over it with hardware cloth (this cage is a pain to mesh, it took roughly 5 hours but of course this was my choice)

My girls absolutely love it and so do I! It would be wonderful in the future if /aosom would make a version of this cage, color and everything, with 1/2 inch bar spacing! (I know a black one of their brand exists with smaller bar spacing) because this cage is almost too perfect for rats
I also would 100 NOT recommend this cage for animals like rabbits and guinea pigs as they prefer flat spaces and burrowing as opposed to climbing like ferrets, chinchillas, and rats
They can seriously injure themselves with a very tall cage like this so save it for animals who can climb!
Let me start out my saying this is NOT a cage for a rabbit or a guinea pig. Theyre meant to have a one level MAYBE 2 level cage with a ramp and lots of flat space. They can fall in a cage with this many levels and get seriously injured. Shame on this company for marketing this cage for those animals.
I purchased this for my chinchilla and it is an awesome cage! It has lots of room and is the perfect size. If your chinchilla chews plastic it is NOT a good purchase. My guy has never shown interest in chewing plastic so it works fantastic for me. I also frequently check the plastic to make sure he hasnt started to take an interest in chewing it. This would also be a great ferret cage.
Educate yourself beyond what pet stores tell you before buying any animal or cage please. I hope this helps!

Only reason it didnt get a 5 star rating was I would have liked a slightly large base. As is, its a ta small to keep more than a couple kittens.
I read a lot of reviews before buying this. I have 2 bigger Guinea pigs ( not babies) and was sure theyd be safe in this. I thought the flooring in the bottom was smart and it seemed to be good for other people. The bottom panels are supposed to be safe for small feet. One of my piggies feet slipped through a hole in the bottom flooring and got stuck. She panicked and caused her cagemate to panic and they got into a little tussle while her foot was stuck. It took 2 people to hold her and remove it without hurting her more. Her foot is broken. Now Ive only got my bigger piggie alone in this while my hurt one recuperates in a kaytee cage. Thanks a lot.
This is a great product Ive got a miniature rooster and I couldnt have done better with this purchase Im disabled it took 20 25 minutes at most like I said Im disabled so a normal person can do it easier lol its very easy to clean witch is very important especially when it is a chicken or in my case a support roosterlol the bottom ramp to get into the cage is to steep for foghorn to walk on but I rigged a way for him to climb in and outits very sturdy for my rooster easy to roll room to room overall very good product!!
Had to modify a little because the smaller rat escaped thru a gap on the side of the cage//4 gaps on each side//but it was an easy fix with some flexible wire.
All in all, were very happy with the new rat condo.
